Re: Improvements to Sydenham
depends - do you mean road/street works? developments? or something else? my first suggestion would be to contact the council and ask... possibly have to send an FOI request, and if you can't find a contact for that then there is a great website 'what do they know' where you can register, and ask qu...

they are probably understaffed - if it's anything like the london borough highways team that I work for, they will be mostly fire fighting queries, and other more pressing work, whilst being under funded, and under resourced, with budget cuts every year it's sometimes difficult to get 'none urgent' ...

Re: 51 Knighton Park Road.
it could just have been a party, however there were people urinating in the street, and an amplified DJ. There probably other issues, and the fact that they had security on the door indicates that the organiser was expecting trouble.

Re: Cycling Weekend Road Closures
my in laws checked the appropriate websites to see if roads would be affected, and were under the impression that they would not have road closures affecting their journey from Sydenham, westwards to Basingstoke. It took them 4.5 hours instead of 2 ish. as the south circular was closed! so either th...

people now have more choice in their alcohol consumption - by that I mean that there are now many more small craft breweries, and home brew is also a large factor - if a pub is tied to one supplier, as many are, then they'll only be selling what the supplier lets them, and if that is two types of sh...

is that a serious question?! Amazon is often cheaper than buying in a shop, and they deliver to your door. most people are inherently lazy.

Re: Two more shops closed
there will be a lot fewer vans when they start delivering by drone.
When you start complaining about the number of drones, drone accidents, thefts, etc, you can blame Amazon (and all those selfish people who decided to be lazy and not shop on their high street - )

licencing - if he's working on the public highway, then he's 'probably' not got the correct licences, or premises, if he's changing oil, etc there will be discharge of chemicals onto public highways, or into drainage system, there's environmental, health and safety, running a business from a council...

Re: 20 mph speed limits
try driving in first gear only. you'll find that if you just lift your foot off the accelerator, your speed will drop considerably faster than being in say third gear and having to take your foot off the gas, and then press it on the brake to slow down. once you're used to driving at 20 in first gea...

Re: Save Beer Rebellion - we need your help!
what they've done is a bit cheeky, and a lot of us did want Beer Rebellion to survive, but I'm sure a lot of those same people will visit the new comedy venue (even if it's just to laugh at the décor )

Mcdonald's good for children? http://www.care2.com/causes/5-reasons-to-never-let-your-kids-eat-mcdonalds.html Fast food chains being better at employment laws? There's plenty of evidence against this, just look at zero hours contracts, which are not illegal but certainly not good for employees. Look...

Re: Say 'No' to further retail at Bell Green
I don't believe we should be saying an outright 'no' to further retail at Bell Green. The right kind of retail, done in the right way, would make the place much more pleasant than what is currently there, or what they've got planned. They could easily keep the gas holders, and incorporate them into ...

Re: Tennis courts in Wells Park?
The ones in Mayow Park are temporarily closed, while they were resurfaced, and received much needed upgrading, and new fencing. This paid jointly by Lewisham, and the Lawn Tennis Association - They will be maintained but this comes at a cost, so therefore to use the Mayow Park ones you'll need to re...

no she's not our MP yet - she's only been elected as the labour candidate. admitedly it's a pretty safe seat, but the election hasn't happened yet, so if enough people get out and vote some other way then she won't be. yes I know thats rather unlikely, but I do like to be precise and accurate on cer...

stuart, if you change the settings on your camera to display the date/time stamp on the image, you can submit photo's like that to Lewisham, and they'll be valid evidence of offence committed - if you send enough of them, lewisham will eventually do something (that might be blocking your email addre...
