Sydenham News launched in March 2008 is to close. It
has become the victim of its founder's success. Sean James Cameron has landed a
career changing contract to produce a UK/USA feature film. Some of which may be
filmed in Crystal Palace. He may need some extras if anyone is also looking for
a career change. Sean will keep us informed.
The News opened on March 10th with a promise to present
news differently. Sean used his skills in the TV industry to integrate video
into news stories. All new websites take a little time to get into their stride
and it was, perhaps, a little sad that the News' best bit of work appeared on
the morning of its closure announcement. Sean's interview with Pat Trembath on
her departure from the chair of the Sydenham Society beautifully encapsulated
her fourteen year tenure.
While the 'News' will disappear - hopefully the videos
will not. The Sydenham News website will point to a video player. And we will
link to them when appropriate.
Will Sean disappear too? At this moment his plans are
uncertain but he hopes to be around for at least a little while longer. He
will, other commitment's permitting, continue to film interesting events in and
around Sydenham. His interview with Pat can be found
