Re: Any news on Mamma Dough?

Nope, no objections made by the Sydenham Society.

Change to a shop front is a planning matter and has to be approved by Lewisham planners.

Re: New Aldi approved in Bell Green

For the record - that is if anyone on this forum is interested - the Sydenham Society welcomed Nando's. It did ask Lewisham if there was going to be any takeaway or home delivery as it was not clear on the original application. This was clarified by Nando's and accepted by Planning. At no stage was ...

Soft launches are usually by invitation only so that the new Team can iron out teething troubles before opening the door to all and sundry,

As Prince says 'From the 15th, they will be in full-opening mode'. Thursday and Friday evenings, and Saturday 2pm-10pm.

My mistake and maybe wishful thinking. The Paxton roundabout is looked after by Southwark Council contractors - and very well they do it too!

Re: Degradation of Sydenham Road

You wont get me joining a conversation often on STF nowadays - and please don't ask me why. However, I'm very happy to join this conversation (at least at present), as it is very close to my heart. I agree the state of the pavements is lousy, having walked the high street with the Sydenham Assembly ...

Re: Toys R Us

At the risk of another side-swipe, I cannot imagine why anyone would think the Sydenham Society would object to an empty retail warehouse on the Bell Green out of town park being re-occupied, or why the council would either for that matter. I think there may be a problem with it being re-occupied, b...

The Sydenham Society did not make any comments to Lewisham about this application, although it was discussed. However our feeling was that it was over-development and we have no problem with the decision to refuse for the reasons given - see below: R E A S O N (S) F O R R E F U S A L 1. The proposed...

Re: STILL NO SYDENHAM CHRISTMAS TREE OR LIGHTS?!

The Sydenham Society's regular weekly (well at least every 10 days) enews carries notification of forth-coming events. It's freely available to members (and to non-members) who choose to sign up to receive. With regard to the SEE3 booklet - this was delivered, at least to my house, along with the Sy...

Re: New Builds on Sydenham High Street

Along with others, on several occasions I have met a number of the owners of the abandoned Nickells site over the past eight years or so, as well as a number of architects who have tried to design a development suited to Sydenham Road's core shopping area, bearing in mind that it is also in a Conser...
