Re: What’s going on at x?

I Understand that the landlord has put up the rent at cherry and ice to an unaffordable level. I noticed today that everything except fixtures and fittings has been removed so it seems sadly unlikely that it will reopen. On more positive news, in terms of investment, I understand that the unit next...

Re: What’s going on at x?

There is a sign up in the shop next to Trattoria Rafaelle but can’t tell if it’s an old sign from a what it was a long time ago (it looks quite old). The sign says something like Childs Estates (ie an estate agent).

Kitchen sink work

Hi all, I'm looking for someone to do some work in our kitchen. Specifically replacing the sink and area around it where you dry plates etc (not sure if there is a name for this) and replacing our hot and cold taps with a mixer tap. Any recommendations (ideally at a reasonable price) much appreciate...

I fear they most likely will: similar goods and services, and very similar name. I'd go for them if I were Mama Dough.

Not too dissimilar font and branding too.

Looks great. Hopefully it won't get into a trademark dispute with Mama Dough.

Mad Dough

Something is happening in the former Golden Grill kebab shop site next to ProGas (corner of Kent House Rd). There is a sign in the window advertising something called 'Mad Dough' which says it is Italian street food and coffee and cakes. Not entirely sure if it is going to appear in that shop as hav...

I thought this had already been approved? It seems to be taken an age for anything to happen.

Re: 154-158 Sydenham Road

Anyone know if there is any update to this. I walk past it every day but no sign of life (or building works) in there.

Knighton Park Road

Development on the corner looks like its pretty much finished. Anyone heard anything about what (if anything) will be moving into the ground floor space? I heard it will be for retail.

Is there anything new on this? Haven't they been saying this for years and years?

Any news on...

That dilapidated building next to the Sivyer yard (down towards the Alfred pub/Lower end of the High St)? I thought planning permission had been approved for a new development but no sign of anything happening.

Apologies I know there was a thread on this somewhere but I can't see it.

Police Sydenham station

Lots of police cars (at least five) outside Sydenham station yesterday. I walked past around 3pm and it seemed the incident, whatever it was, had finished. Anyone know what happened?

I've heard that this will re-open soon but this time as a 'grill' type restaurant. Not sure on exact opening date but hope it does well.

Re: Washing machine

To be perfectly honest, it's an easy job - you could do it yourself. If you haven't got the manual then try Googling, but essentially it's just connecting a red hose and a blue one. Good luck in any case. Spoken by somone who clearly hasn't witnessed me trying to do DIY. I'l call an expert, but tha...

Re: Washing machine

You could ask Sydenham DIY Tel: 020 8776 7020 near Sydenham station as they're affiliated with a plumbing shop and one or the other could probably offer a name. Assuming it might well take two visits, perhaps check pricing first in case an hourly minimum charge would apply. I'm surprised a flooring...

Washing machine

Can anyone recommend someone who can disconnect (then later reconnect) a washing machine for me? I'm getting the floor relaid in my kitchen but will need to move the washine machine first. The place I used when I got it installed (on the High Street) seems to have shut down and is empty. Any suggest...
