Historic Sydenham spire built by Christopher Wren to be restored

A historic stone church spire built by Sir Christopher Wren which sits in the middle of a Sydenham community is to be restored. Originally found on top of St Antholin's Church in the City of London, the spire was moved to Round Hill in the 1800s after it was damaged in a storm, where it is now surro...

Ellie Reeves

I'm full of admiration for Ellie who has been out and about campaigning whilst 9 months pregnant - anyone who's been 9 months pregnant will know this is no mean feat! Here's a piece she wrote for inews about the challenges of being heavily pregnant when a snap election is called - https://inews.co.u...

Re: FOUND: brown leather bag

Pleased to report that I shared the takeaway's post on the Sydenham Mums Facebook group, a lady recognised the bag (as she'd bought it as a gift for someone), she contacted the gent in question who confirmed that it was indeed his bag and I'm told that bag and man have now been happily reunited afte...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

Some ad-hominem threads of other local forums were/are breathtakingly destructive. Kangaroo courts, conspiracy theory and mob bullying of individuals, in some cases encouraged by the forum owners themselves. That will never happen here... Re-instate the Flava Baker thread. Then people can determine...

Can we take this as your unambiguous approval for the reinstatement of all posts on that thread but with the thread remaining closed?

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

I have hope your participation in the moderation team is an opportunity. In that case, it would be helpful perhaps if ForestHull could respond to the points people have raised above but remain unaddressed? As you said previously, Stuart: It would be good if they [the mods] could be open about where...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

And has CB appointed ForestHull on the basis that he has asked no such awkward questions and thereby CB has deemed the appointee to be another compliant soul in CBWorld ? Considering every single person I spoke to during the Flava Baker debacle had suspicions around ForestHull - at worst a CB sock ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

Personally I have always disliked Twitter and I think it has had a hugely negative impact on respectful debate, fact-based policy making, democracy and accountability. I wish more people would disengage from Twitter, just like they do for the most harmful internet forums and tabloid newspapers. I'v...

I'm also blocked.
He's commented on a tweet of yours recently too. It's very odd to block someone and then comment on their posts, knowing they won't see his response. He's done it with me, JGD and others in the past too (JGD very recently). So odd.

FOUND: brown leather bag

There's a post today on Facebook from a Tandoori takeaway in Nunhead about a brown leather bag they found in their waiting area some months ago, belonging to "Antony Colin" from SE26 - they're still trying to trace him so that they can return the bag. Does anyone know Antony?

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

Over the course of the last week, he's used his various Twitter accounts (including SE23life and SE23lifeChris) to have - totally unsolicited and unprovoked - passive aggressive pops at JGD, Save Duncombe Hill Green, LewishamLowdown, JaneCanDoSE4 and "other local forums" (overtly meaning forums othe...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum

Hi, this is Nicola. There’s a lot of speculation on here about the existence of a police report/investigation, so I thought I’d tell you what I know. After having seen the statements about a police report/investigation on SE23.Life etc, I voluntarily contacted Lewisham MPS and Kent Police to assist ...
