The planning officer has advised me that they have been ready to issue a decision on this application since early June, but this would have included a condition preventing takeaway use as the applicant hadn’t indicated their intention to provide a takeaway element or provided any details of same. Th...

Re: High Street banners
The high street banners were commissioned by SEE3 - a small group of volunteers who worked on the design and printing. Lewisham Council gave permission for the banners to be put up on the lamp posts and were involved in the liaison with Skanska. The responsibility for getting Skanska back to fix the...

Re: High Street banners
Hello syd res - in answer to your points we did know that the banners needed refixing with more secure ties. The plan was to do this when the Christmas lights went up in November - and when this didn't happen when the lights were being taken down in January. As I have said previously the street colu...

Re: High Street banners
Yes I did ask Skanska to put on stronger ties when the Christmas lights were taken down - this didn't happen so I am chasing. The banners we put up last year are perforated to let the wind through and do have the same colour as the previous banners that were solid. So on both points they are not doi...

Great see some discussion - and a few points to consider - the Council have a Street Markets Team who manage the Catford, Deptford and Lewisham markets as well as Sydenham. They have vast experience of running the daily markets and also let pitches around the borough including Angie's Flowers - a su...

Re: Sydenham Market is back on 2nd Saturday of the month
Agreed that the Sydenham market needs a review. Lewisham Markets Service manage the street markets at Catford, Deptford, Lewisham and Sydenham. A market trader needs to register with LB Lewisham as the pitch is on a public space and the stalls need a casual traders licence. SEE3 own the stalls and l...

Re: Speed Camera Westwood Hill - Which speed???
Lewisham is introducing 20mph on all Council roads - roads that are red routes (main roads with red lines such as the South Circular) remain at 30mph. The signage for the 20mph is currently being rolled out and motorists can reduce their speed now to 20 mph to improve community safety.
