Okay, I know it’s not Sydenham BUT thought it deserved a shout out! All swimming is good but given the fact that local indoor pools are still closed (although I believe Downham has reopened) and the amazing weather I figured it was worth a try swimming outdoors. I have been unsuccessful in booking s...

Re: The 8pm NHS celebration
I think this Thursday’s clap may be the last one. I am sure I read it somewhere. We should make it count if it is the last one!

Local Locksmith Recommendation
Looking for recommendations for a local locksmith who charges a fair price, to sort out the handle and locking mechanism on a UPVC door.
Thanks.

Thanks.

I think this shows that even in a time of crisis we can still care for others. Well done Lewisham!

Dead Cat on Kirkdale
I was just in traffic heading down Kirkdale to Cobbs Corner and saw a white cat lying on the pavement (outside No 200). I pulled over to have a look as the scene looked weird - the white cat lying on its side and a holdall on the wall next to it. I went to look and sadly the cat is definitely dead. ...

Re: Begging around Sainsburys Local
This sounds like the same guy who is often at Sainsburys and now Aldi. His common requests are money for a hostel, money to get a ticket to visit someone in hospital and money for petrol (not asked for that recently though). I see him practically everywhere I go in Sydenham.

Re: Bell Green Proposals
My first thought is it reminds me of the development on the old greyhound track in Catford. I’ve not been in it but have been past it and it looks and feels strange. I can’t quite put my finger on it. I don’t understand the plan in that the retail park is getting a new Aldi in a couple of weeks time...

Re: Gunshots?
I was also woken up by what sounded like gunshots. I am in lower Sydenham not far from the Catholic primary school. I heard one police siren a short while afterwards but then nothing after that. Any news anywhere about it?

Re: Carpet cleaning - recommendations?
I used Prolux today to clean my carpet on the stairs and landing. I was very impressed with the service the company gave from start to finish. The fact they do Sundays was perfect for me. From start to finish it was very quick - 20 minutes total to clean the carpet and most of the stains came out. T...

Re: Best Breakfast in Sydenham
The cafe in Mayow Park is good but a little pricey compared to a regular greasy spoon. The quality is good though. It does get very busy so getting there early helps.

Re: Sainsbury's Bell Green
Has anyone else noticed an increase in the number of people begging outside Sainsburys? Every time I go at the moment I am also approached in the car park by people asking for money. It is a little disconcerting at times, especially when it’s dark.

We had 3 more power cuts last night. Anyone rlse affected? So annoying. Apparently it was to do with the sub station in the Fairlawn Park area.

Re stock:
I have also noticed empty shelves and reduced choice at Sainsburys but had been wondering if I was imagining things.
Re rats:
I always spot them when I am walking near the flats and yes they are huge; rats on steroids!
