Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Saw the little green van with two cheery young men in it waiting to come out into the roundabout at 4.30pm ish. Being the kind hearted person that I am I gave way to the left and let them in. It was only then I noticed Purlake on the side of the van. Hope this is a good portent.

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Totally with biscuitman1978 on this. Time for the council to stop pussy footing around the developer and take legal proceedings. It really does not matter who owns the site as the agreement runs with the land and therefore whoever owns it.It's not difficult to find out. These are deliberate develope...

Re: Zanzibar Xmas Newsletter

Very sorry Chris Best but it is Lewisham as Licensing Authority having granted the licence, against overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that should be monitoring the event and keeping a log of any issues!! If you want a test, monitor it yourselves!!! "Neighbours need to be ready to keep a lo...

Re: Zanzibar Xmas Newsletter

And a happy New Year to you too Vintage Auntie.Looking forward to being enlightened by Lee Jasper. Hope Lewisham has the Licensing team monitoring the event! Sure they will be pulling all the stops out just like they are with the Greyhound! Ha Ha - weak and impotent.

Re: Zanzibar Xmas Newsletter

Not a great fan of yours Lee Jasper after your time at the GLA. But you write a good post and I hope that the Zanzibar works out for all concerned and you can live up to the huge expectations otherwise you relationship with the local community will be in tatters. Perhaps, whilst you are posting on t...

Re: Small scale improvements to CP park

The survey works fine but perhaps not in the way you expected. You just need to rank in order of preference and SurveyMonkey shuffles it into order. Start with your first preference and work your way through the list in order of preference. SurveyMonkey will keep shuffling the list until you have yo...

That is fantastic news. No mean feat to become one of the Portas Pilot projects. Hearty congratulations to all involved! Suprised you haven't been shouting it from the roof tops.

Calling all local Web Designers!

The Crystal Palace Park Community Stakeholder Group was established in March 2012. One of our key duties is to establish a Crystal Palace Park community led website to promote and raise awareness of our park, and the fantastic resource that it is for the community and wider public. The group is curr...

Re: Parliamentary Constituency Changes for Lewisham

Jim Dowd Esq and MP for Dulwich. Has a ring to it. Some of my fellow Dulwich'ites are choking on their lattes at the fact that Jim could be our joint local MP replacing north London Tessa. Don't you mean skinny lattes? Tessa Jowell represents her constituents very well from my own experience...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

The limited risk for these 'chancers' is the millions that they have already put into the club. Limitless profits - ha! It's a football club. Even Chelsea made a £50m loss last year. Limited risk is done because it encourages entrepreneurial ventures, which is good for the economy and the country. ...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

Sorry Dorian - sold in property speak can mean obtaining an interest in land whether it be actually purchasing the freehold or leasehold interest. It will have to be one or the other. I expect CPFC to be looking at a sweet lease on a long term. I do know a little about property speak , but thanks f...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

Sorry Dorian, but costs are of concern to the public when it comes to selling off public MOL land. They certainly will be of concern to Bromley, a public body, who will have to justify value for money and will be subject to scrutiny. Any land disposal could also potentially become subject to EU pro...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

Sledge hammer and nut! There are other more sustainable approaches which should be considered before Bromley go anywhere near this scheme. Whilst agreeing that the scheme needs fine tuning and thinking through, surley this can be done via a statutary consulation period. S.106 obligations , travel p...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

What percentages of those costs was the cost of buying the land, as opposed to the costs of construction? Would CPPC get a sweetheart deal for the land (i.e. very cheap), as a quid pro quo for masterplan implementation? CPFC is definitely looking for a sweetheart deal to make up for the S106 planni...

The park coped with 100,000 football fans back when the FA was held there. It coped when Coldplay played there (and other bands). It coped when they had concerts there in the 70's garden parties. The likes of Elvis Costello, Pink Floyds etc played there. http://www.ukrockfestivals.com/Garden-party-...

Re: Crystal Palace stadium re-development?

I am sure the Noble and Learned Duke has a Private Garage and chauffer for the Rolls. My dear eagle, I have a stable of fillies so am not in need of further horse power. What is wrong with a CPZ for the area shown. Might discourage rogue parkers and people just using the stations I would be against...
