Re: My take on London's Riots

I'd also like to take issue with the OP mentioning the 'fact' that news agencies are saying it is minorities doing the rioting. Rubbish. They are going out of their way to avoid mentioning the obvious. On another note I see there is a London media blackout it seems. Should have done that last night ...

Re: THE RESULTS ARE IN

I'm surprised at the stat on not wanting Costa or Starbucks. I always thought they created a bit of an M&S effect on an area. A barometer of an areas gentrification if you will. The road does need smartening up and personally I'd use the money earmarked for Station approach which to me isnt a ma...

Re: bomb perhaps ?

Great minds and all that ALIB Is that you handling it? You wouldn't catch me doing it. 60 years or not. I used to go sailing past a wreck in the Thames estuary that sank over 60 years ago with munitions on it. My mate reckoned that if the thing blew (which apparently is a possibility) it would take ...

Pity it couldn't have been relocated to CPP. See how long those travellers stick around then....

Though given the price of metal these days they'd pawn it

Re: Objectively, is there a problem with this Forum?

Chris

I agree on the Town Pub, which is why I think the closed topic on reparations should have been kept open. For the more sensitive 'right on' souls, they should stick to the Town Hall etc. If this is a true community then it will have a place for everyone, 'Pub Bores' included.

Re: Similar messageboard for Penge?

I don't think people can or should try to spread their tentacles too far. That's the beauty of a forum community thats geographically singing from the same hymn sheet, like STF. Virtual Norwood champions itself on being a forum for Penge, Anerley, South Norwood, West Norwood, Sydenham and Crystal Pa...

Re: Bake sell for Japan

Sorry Pantwetter. It might be an attempt to be funny but your post just came across as beyond tastelessness to me. You appear to shoot from the hip a bit too fast. This thread was someone's attempt to do something good for this terrible natural disaster. Criticism is OK. Ridicule is just cruel. Stu...

Re: Bake sell for Japan

I have to say I agree with Eagle. I don't recall seeing reports of an influx of donations from Tokyo following the Tsunami of Brixton Hill yesterday. I dont expect to see the spoils of a 'sushi off' anytime soon.

Bit of a cliche this one, but Birdsong - Sebastian Faulks is a particular favourite of mine

I wasn't digging you out actually Mike, I was just just surprised you're on there. I lurk on there and I hadn't seen anyone posting vaguely like you do on here. Tone it down do you?

As for my politics I wouldn't know what you mean. There's nothing wrong with vilification of social degenerates....

You're on Virtual Norwood Mikey? You'd have been banned by now for sure. Your leanings would go down with the fluffies on there well. But 'I'd wager' you wouldn't last long

Re: BT = Rip Off Merchants

We had no dialling tone for ages and finally phoned BT about it. No charge though so I'm confused. The problem was outside where the line enters the house.

This of course won't help you, just thought I'd share!
