In other high street news, I see there's a Spanish-Polish deli opening up in the old flower shop next to Lidl.

I know it's not SE26 but...Just got back and it is brilliant. Not just cakes and the like, proper veg from nearby. Amazing how much you get for a fiver. And amazing views. Every Saturday until Xmas then hopefully longer.

I agree a hundred percent. We were exploring Bellenden Road the other day and had lunch at the Begging Bowl, a Thai restaurant. The food was good but not the best Thai food I've ever had. But the one thing I noticed was the great music which was inobtrusive and gave the place a buzz. The restaurant ...

It looks like there's a new vintage shop opening up in Parish Lane. It's a few doors down from the veterinary surgery, on the other side of the road from Alexandra Nurseries. It would be lovely to have a cluster of shops in that area.

I hear it's going to be an ice cream parlour but I would have thought they'd also serve coffee to keep them going the rest of the year.

The Dolphin is featured in Time Out this week, in an article about 'London's Best Pub Gardens'.

I can't find it online yet. It IS a lovely place on a sunny day.
