In other high street news, I see there's a Spanish-Polish deli opening up in the old flower shop next to Lidl.

Local au pair meet ups
Are there any regular au pair meet ups around Sydenham? I know there are groups in East Dulwich but it would be great if there were something closer. Thanks!

Re: Cafe's
I gather the owner of Cafe Gold was interested in attracting a wider mix of people, or so I heard about a year ago. In East London his place would be considered 'retro'.... Has anyone ever approached them with some thoughts on how to jazz up the place? If he is indeed keen on getting more people thr...

Very nice, Lee. What has the feedback been? Are either going to take up the offer and redo their shop fronts?

Re: SEE3 News: Pop Up Shop Opening Wednesday 1 Sydenham Rd
Before N'damus finishes its run, I just wanted to say that Mr Chrism bought me a bag from there for my birthday and I love it. They have some really lovely stuff there- quality bags, fashionable. So if anyone is looking for a present for themselves or others, they should consider popping by. [ Post ...

The new shops look great! If you don't normally make it as far as lower Sydenham, it's worth the visit. These new businesses are really making an effort and deserve the support. I really like the new gallery as well. Great addition. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://sydenham.org.uk/mobile.png

Foxtots is still on over the summer! https://m.facebook.com/Foxtots?id=296703790441045&_rdr A great little signing group for the babies and toddlers- and the songs change regularly so no one gets bored. My son loves it. I hear the the Bellingham SureStart group is still on but I have never been....

Most of the playgroups end this week. Any ideas for alternatives and groups still running through the summer would be greatly appreciated!

Re: THE MONTAGE in FOREST HILL
I agree a hundred percent. We were exploring Bellenden Road the other day and had lunch at the Begging Bowl, a Thai restaurant. The food was good but not the best Thai food I've ever had. But the one thing I noticed was the great music which was inobtrusive and gave the place a buzz. The restaurant ...

Parish Lane
It looks like there's a new vintage shop opening up in Parish Lane. It's a few doors down from the veterinary surgery, on the other side of the road from Alexandra Nurseries. It would be lovely to have a cluster of shops in that area.

I hear it's going to be an ice cream parlour but I would have thought they'd also serve coffee to keep them going the rest of the year.

Re: Market Research - Cinema
Survey done. I think a cinema would transform the high street. I also think people from Forest Hill would be willing to travel the short distance and with free parking on the high street, East Dulwich / Crystal Palace residents, too. But most of all, I'd love to have a cinema showing independent fil...

Also, there's an earlier thread saying that the people behind Canvas and Cream in Forest Hill may be interested:

Sydenham in Time Out
There seems to be a buzz about Sydenham at the moment....
The Dolphin is featured in Time Out this week, in an article about 'London's Best Pub Gardens'.
I can't find it online yet. It IS a lovely place on a sunny day.
