Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Do you mean to close that off too? Has the world gone mad? Just wait till things get back to normal and schools are reopen. It will be traffic and pollution chaos. I despair for Sydenham I really do. It will become an unattractive place to live.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Has anyone got a forklift truck and a few mates? People should take back control from the jobsworths who arranged to put the big plant pots barriers in the road. Let's organise and get these things shifted off the road!

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
What's not to like about this is the extra pollution and traffic this closure is already causing. We only have two roads that allow us access northbound. This is outrageous.

Re: Activity in old Coop
I think you guys have done a brilliant job. Those lights were on for ages and the council did nothing about it. You have my full support. The climate crisis is more urgent than ever, coronavirus or no coronavirus.

Industrial sounding noise in the air
I live in Upper Sydenham, off Westwood Hill, and have noticed in the past few days a continuous heavy droning industrial type of sound in the distance that is disturbing the quietness I usually experience if I'm outside in my garden. I've gone out there at night and still can hear it. :? Can anyone ...
Re: Mural?
Why is everything that we want to get done in Sydenham have to be so complicated that it never gets done? Why do other places like Penge and Forest Hill, Crofton Park and Brockley manage to get things done? Who is it or what is it that always sabotages things and/or make it take so longer or stops i...

So sad
Must have been awful to witness...
Please can you describe the cat? It's colour? Short or long haired? Any distinguishing markings?

Re: How Cobbs Corner is changing
Good point but the roundabout is an embarrassment, with all the rubbish and carrier bags and drying shrubs. That's what the passing traffic sees as an introduction to Sydenham. Yet, the council has issues with the 'Health and Safety' of the staff who might maintain it. So the solution is not to. It'...

I wonder if you contacted Chris the councillor whether she might know? I think it's outrageous the way trees are not treated with a bit more respect when they are pruned by some of these contractors.

Re: Trees in Lewisham
The giant majestic 200 year old tree on the junction of Thakeham Close, SE26 and Lawrie Park Gardens is currently being felled :( It is on private land destroying the low level wall and pavement. However, the tree was there before the Close was built! It was around in 1820. It's taken them two full ...
Re: FOXed!
I have several foxes and a cub that regularly frequent my garden. They each have their own character and one likes to be stroked on the nose. They are warey of humans, which is good, but I know they are completely harmless.
They are gorgeous creatures.

Re: Roundabout at Cobbs Corner
Thanks for chasing Chris. I appreciate it's a bit dangerous but considering that I have thought about doing it myself I can't see why the council with all their bollards and high vis can't do it pronto. In hindsight, they should have built the roundabout higher TBH to prevent cars from mounting it, ...
