Re: driving and phones

What's dangerous about headphones? They are it illegal. Neither are earplugs. Or in fact being deaf and driving It's to do with being aware of everything around you. Blocking out sound with earphones reduces that ability. I'm not saying deaf people shouldn't drive, just that if you can hear don't t...

....while we are on it how about drivers wearing earphones. Almost as dangerous as cyclists wearing them.

Overground???

Does anyone know why the extension to the old East London line was renamed the Overground? A more confusing name they couldn't have chosen. Sydenham along with other stations has an overground service which makes it doubly confusing. Just because some of the Overground is indeed over ground rather t...

More filming in Sydenham

Sydenham seems to have film units around quite a lot recently.

Today a big Panalux lighting lorry in the park next to the rather huge rundown house next to the park at the top of Crystal Palace Park Road.

Filming at the top of Crystal Palace Park Road

There has been a film crew at one of the houses at the top off Crystal Palace Park Road for the last few days. Anyone know what they are filming?

Is there anything that can be done to get shops like this disgrace up in the triangle to spend some money making themsleves presentable?

Re: End of Lawrie Park road closed

Very sad. But the speed some bikers race down CPP, I'm amazed it doesn't happen more. Some riders go through the lights at the junction with Westwood Hill and race down the road at unbelievable speeds, sometimes doing wheelies. I fear for any mothers crossing the road with their kids sometimes. I wi...

Re: Road blocked off -top of Westwood Hill

Unsure whether this was an accident site last night or if it's something to do with a lorry shedding its load- the entire section of road seems to be covered with something.

Road from the roundabout to the junction of Crystal Palace Park Road and Westwood Hill is completely taped off. Anyone know why?

Re: Houses built in Crystal palace park?

If the powers that be want wide spread support for their Masterplan then it is time they listened to the community. The GLA currently has funding available for CPP - it's about £8m. Now why not modify the MP? Ditch the housing element and scrap digging up car parks to relocate elsewhere. Forget abo...

Re: Houses built in Crystal palace park?

I don't think the park is under used. I use the park every day and there are hundreds of dog walkers, joggers etc using the park. On sunny days it is packed. I'm not saying it doesn't need some money spent on it, it's the ridiculously ambitious ideas that have been put suggested that need scaling ba...

Re: Houses built in Crystal palace park?

Am I the only one who thinks that while the park might be a little tatty around the edges and could do with a few quid spent on it, it isn't the 'rundown' park that all the politicians and grubby property developers tell us? Generally I find the park fairly well maintained, although more decent toil...

Re: Crystal Palace Garden Party is back

Are you sure its taking place this year and not 1974? Hardly targeting the youth market with that line up are they? Good one Simon... I'm also old enough to remember. Quite like Wakeman and Lemmy era Hawkwind. Not so sure about BJH-they weren't fashionable even in the seventies. How about some of t...

Re: NO TRAINS SUNDAY 19th FEB

If you are lucky enough to make it into Central London, half the tube system always seems to be down at weekends. A world class capital city should work better than this.

I'm living in hope that all this work might calm down once the olympics is over.

I'm definitely with you there Sophie. It's disappearance from The Triangle a few years gave me a bit of hope for the area.

Sydenham needs to move upmarket not downmarket.
