Re: Pavement studs on Sydenham Road
Yes, I saw these too outside Co-op and around the corner into Girton Road. What is the point of denoting these separate property lines unless tables and chairs are planned to be put outside each shop?

Re: Station approach - new toilet
Whenever it is finished, it is a terrible eyesore and clearly, very little thought has been put into the aesthetics. Disappointing.

Re: On the Hoof Bistro
This is indeed very exciting news Any new 'bistro-like' addition to the High St is very welcome amongst the sea of takeaways and chicken shops. Love the sound of your renovations to uncover the original Victorian features, too.

Re: A chocolate shop for Sydenham?
I think it would be a great addition to Sydenham. Needs to be High Street for the footfall I would've thought. Would be good to see more of these individual artisanal shops coming into the High Street, rather than the infernal chicken shops, betting shops, grotty cafes and second hand shops.

Re: Pedder Mailstorm
V.annoying, completely agree with you. We've not had any mailshot drop from Pedder. But we do have a NO JUNK MAIL sticker on our letterbox (not that this deters all junk droppers I might add). I suggest a timely tweet to @pedderproperty might get you a more positive response than speaking to any of ...

Re: Christmas tree
So the tree has gone . What a shame! Does anyone know of any plans to replace it with anything or does the council get in another rootless tree next Dec that gets tossed on the scrap heap a month later ?

Re: Christmas tree
I have no idea if the tree is rooted or not. I merely commented that it looked sturdy in its place. The question is: if it is not a tree with roots, i.e a living tree, how does it survive the year??

Re: Christmas tree
Thanks for the info/update. I'm happy the tree is to stay as a permanent fixture. No, I would not rather it was cut up into logs. I agree we need more greenery on High Street, rather than less. As mentioned by Rachael here, I too was concerned it was a bare rooted tree fixed into the ground and had ...

Christmas tree
Is the giant Christmas tree on Sydenham Road staying up for the duration of 2014 or is there a reason for the delay in this being taken down? I note the lights have disappeared but the tree looks pretty well anchored in there despite the crosswinds it has endured in the last month. Apols if this has...

Re: Thank You to Billings
I agree wholeheartedly. We enjoyed a turkey, fillet of beef and gammon this Xmas from Billings and they were all fabulous. The turkey particularly so.. In fact, my mother said she had never seen such a clean bird so they clearly put some attention into ensuring all their birds were well prepared, to...

Re: Wimpy gone
Depressing news indeed. So when Paddy Power open up, we will have 3 gambling options within a small section of Sydenham Road, sandwiched only by two Pound Shops (both of which I frequent, great bargains and jolly shopkeepers). How can this be allowed? Do our council not have any say over what goes i...

Re: Girton Road Car Park
Another large caravan drove into the car park tonight. The lower car park now is an absolute mess of junk, rubbish everywhere. The drone of their generators must be a massive pain to close neighbours and all one can see in the caravans are the various illuminations of massive flat screen Tv's. On sa...

Girton Road Car Park
A convoy of travellers, all pulling large caravans, set up camp in the Girton Road carpark yesterday. I watched them all file in one after the other...Must've counted 20 or so  Having only lived in the area for 6mths, I'm interested to know if anyone is aware of this being an issue before? I ...
