Re: Broken window theory
I do keep thinking of putting my own signs up on some of the raised grass areas, pointing out they are cleaned by volunteers and asking if they could wipe their own arses... Thought about it again today when I emptied yet another litre bottle of water, filled with urine and shoved behind a green box ...

Re: Broken window theory
Fantastic work, thank you for helping to keep Sydenham tidy I cannot understand people who just throw their rubbish on the ground even when there are bins close by Seems all my images broke, so I've re-added some... It's complicated. Sometimes it's the birds emptying the bins. Or foxes. Sometimes ...

Re: Did you vote?
I voted Green too. A safe Labour seat ATM, so freedom to lend my vote elsewhere and have no effect on the official outcome. Plus, the Labour run council aren't a great advert for Labour, though I'd rather have Labour in charge of the country than the Tories. Not sure it makes a great deal of ...

Re: New Marks and Spencer at Bell Green
Opening up an M&S Food in a section of Curry's on a grotty retail park is not the regeneration I am looking for. This retail park's days are numbered. The question is, do you want a load of high rise towers slapped on there or some sort of sensitive redevelopments with a village and a leisure ...

I've heard the hope is to install this in August.
In other news, seems (on twitter) like the ulez nutcases might be targeting traffic lights again after they lost the election.

Re: Broken window theory
On a proactive note... I chucked a load of wildflower seeds on the raised beds by Stanton Way in Autumn. Just after Glendale had cut it back. Starting to see some Yellow Rattle coming through and some Common Corncockle. Hopefully some more will come, but the grass could have done with a cut in Feb ...

Re: Did you vote?
I voted green x3. Not expecting anything from it. But really struggling to vote Labour, based on interactions with the council over a long period (though I have had recent productive conversations with Louise Krupski, who is now deputy mayor, about the litter issues). I really think it's time some ...

I heard there were a lot of problems with the application and there is supposed to be a meeting with the developers at some point. I wouldn't expect a decision for a while. It may have to go back to the drawing board.

160,000 didn't vote.
Winner only had 21,000.
Cost of £15 per vote (£635,000 ÷ 41,000).

Re: Lewisham's mayoral by-election
I have never voted Tory and I don't think I'll start now. She says in the article she's going to remove fencing around playgrounds. Which I presume will result in children wandering off and dogs wandering in... Not much thought as to why playgrounds have fences at all... I can't vote Labour, because ...

Re: Planning permission?
I don't believe planning permission is required if you are not in a conservation area and there is no article 4 direction removing permitted development. I would imagine that extends to the windows too. As long as they are the same size/ appearance. An entirely new window opening would require ...

Re: Barratt Homes / gasholders site: make your comments NOW!
I think he's arguing against car free developments. The issue here is that the area has quite poor transport links (for an inner London borough). The stations are all a fair walk away and the lines don't transport east and west very effectively. Bus capacity is restricted by the railway line and low ...
