I didnt really think I would use the Overground, but I now find myself using it quite a bit. My old journey to work was Sydenham or Forest Hill to London Bridge then the trek to the Jubilee Line to get to Green Park. Now increasingly I find that I am getting the Overground to Canada Water and gettin...

In a weird way our family quite enjoyed Sunday. It helped that it was such a gorgeous day, we spent the afternoon in Wells Park. Then played numerous board games with the children before they went to bed. To be honest the only thing we really missed was our usual roast dinner! Instead we had an extr...

Thanks Pat, I've signed the petition and sent the (slightly amended but still polite) email. I hope that everyone on the forum can spare a few minutes to do this. I am particularly concerned about the loss of the service from Sydenham to Victoria. My family live in Hammersmith and I make great use o...

While I'm glad that something is being done in this area, I am extremely disappointed with the decision to put a Homebase there. The one in Penge is literally 10 minutes away, is there a need for another one so close?

Personally I would have been overjoyed to have had a cinema built there!!

Personally I would like the Somerfield replaced with a Tesco Metro. That's just my personal preference as I dont particularly enjoy shopping in Somerfield. While I am not totally averse to the odd PoundShop (if you have children, as I do, they're great for things like glitter and biscuit cutters!) I...

Glad I didnt bother with Crystal Palace now. After last years debacle when they changed the date at the last minute I decided to go elsewhere. We went to the very good (free) display at Streatham Common on the Friday night. As an added bonus while waiting on Platform 15 at Clapham Junction the follo...

Sydenham Little Un's

Oops sorry Leaf I think you must have had a bad experience. When I have been to The Spa's Spacezone (sorry I couldnt remember the name when I posted originally..), staff give each child a sticker with their name and age which they have to wear, if any child misbehaves they go and find the parent to ...

Sydenham Little Un's

There is also a really nice (not sure if its Rascals or not but similar ...) soft play area at The Spa leisure centre in Beckenham my 2 boys aged 6 and nearly 3 both love it. Even though its address is Beckenham its only a few minutes down Penge High St so not too far. There is also a small Rascals ...

Bell Green Gasworks Site

I'm obviously something of a philistine too - I am in agreement with Mr Whitehead. I'm afraid I struggle to see any beauty in the site in its present condition - surely practically anything will be an improvement? I'm not convinced we need a Homebase there though, I'll risk raising the wrath of ever...

Would love to be able to give an opinion. Back when it was actually Bonfire Night, my husband and I were looking online to find a display to go to, and read the Crystal Palace one was postponed - date given Nov 30th , I double checked the date myself while at Crystal Palace on Monday and was again t...
