Re: Delivery scooters all parked down Spring Hill

It's not just Nandos. Sainsbury's local now does Uber delivery.

I too noticed how many were parked there recently.. it's become a scooter park.

I would imagine it would be soon. I am 51 but was invited when the mass target group was 55-60 so I think they are ahead of schedule.

Re: Anybody clap last night?

There was no clapping where I live at all. Though considering it was only suggested 48 hours beforehand, many may not have seen it. My mum for example avoids the news now. I watch the news far less than I used to. Doom and Gloom is outside my window... and that's all the news is these days :D :D

Re: Danger of e-scooters

As far as I am aware, it is illegal to ride an e-scooter on both the road and pavement. Yet I see scenes like the one I witnessed today on an almost daily basis. I’ve nearly been hit on three occasions. I am now constantly looking over when I’m walking around Sydenham. It doesn’t feel safe. I belie...

I always wondered about that space. I park on Tannsfeld road when I pick up my chinese from Golden City and it's never had an ambulance in it, but I still don't park in it... now I know why I have not seen an ambulance in it lol.

Re: Wells Park practice and Covid vaccinations

An update to my earlier post. My mum who is 71 has got her appointment for tomorrow (Thurs 14th) for her first jab. At a surgery in Streatham so not far to go at all. I'm surprised she got it early as I thought we were still in the 80/85 age group, but she is diabetic so that may have something to d...

Re: Wells Park practice and Covid vaccinations

I think it's going to depend on which actual vaccine they are going to issue... the PFizer one has to be stored at -72 degrees which not all GP surgeries could do. My mum's neighbour who lives on Leigham Court Road in Streatham got sent to Kennington for her vaccination. So an 82 year old had to get...

Interesting new development to the frontage of the pub. New large umbrella style canopies plus heaters installed over several tables
The Greyhound has also had some "Hot mushrooms" (as my ex calls them) delivered for the outside seating area.

Passed Paris’ barber shop the other day and it is closed (and stripped clean). Does anyone know if he moved somewhere else within Sydenham area? From a post on the Sydenham Facebook page, the Hill Top Cafe across the road is where Paris is moving to. You will see the windows closed up and covered w...

Re: 1.15 AM: tree felling or "boy" racers?

Sounds as though it could be tree felling around the railway, but I don't think National Rail usually do it at such antisocial hours, Actually they do, but as I live very close to the station, we always get letters put through our mailbox "Dear Railway Neighbour" letting us know of it but...

Re: How will this lockdown affect us?

I think everyone will be different. Personally for me, I have been working from home since the last lockdown, I hope to never have to go back to every day in the office as it's 3 hours a day travelling that I get back. My father passed away just before the last lockdown (we had his funeral one day b...
