Re: Home Park today

Not in the same location, maybe somewhere else? Fairlawn Park is quiet.

Re: Planning alert - St Philip Neri school travel plan, last chance to comment

I am going to leave it at, this document seems sloppy and confusing, and I think it worth neighbours having a look. If you think it is clear, then that's great. If people think it needs clarification, then just send in a comment to ask for it. Ask for more information about the status of the existin...

Re: Planning alert - St Philip Neri school travel plan, last chance to comment

The 'access point' in Fairlawn Park is NOT OPEN for general use. Therefore, directing people to it is sloppy, at best. Probably, the issues are all about sloppy drafting, but I think it is fair enough to point them out. The Archdiocese is resisting sorting out the park improvements, so any fudging o...

Re: Planning alert - St Philip Neri school travel plan, last chance to comment

The point is that, if approaching as a pedestrian from Winchfield Road, the obvious and quickest route would be through the park to the main entrance, not to Fairlawn Park where the existing 'access point' entrance is only open for kindergarten, and some out of hours clubs. It is not available for g...

Re: Planning alert - St Philip Neri school travel plan, last chance to comment

Hi Jollylollly, Yes, the current entrance is from the park, as per the planning permission. The travel plan, however, suggests this is to change. See it for yourself at https://planning.lewisham.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=_LEWIS_DCAPR_103854&activeTab=summary It is confu...

The person I feel most sorry for is the uber driver. By definition self-employed, so having to quarantine themself will be financially crippling. No work, no income.

Bell Green Travis Perkins

Travis Perkins have confirmed that they are the new occupiers of the Bell Green gasholders site. In the next month they will provide an outline plan for pre-consultation with Lewisham Council. Their branches open at 7am, and deliveries of stock are likely to start even earlier than that. Large lorri...

And the public transport needs a serious rethink given the volume of plans for new car-less developments on Mayow. Car clubs could be start towards making it work?

Re: Mad Dough

Say the name out loud, and it is quite unlike Mamma Dough. Can't see the problem really. I agree with a lot of what has been said, and it is a very, very cramped site. However, I think they have a good chance, given their opening hours. They are opening at 8am, and will do very well on the coffee an...

Re: Petition. Lewisham isn't working: end the directly-elected mayoral system now

Proportional representation would be the best possible outcome, but I don't know the law for councils. Funnily enough, the Mayor himself claims to be a fan of proportional representation; perhaps we should ask him to look into the possibility.....

Re: Petition. Lewisham isn't working: end the directly-elected mayoral system now

It would return to votes after proper discussion at committees, involving larger numbers of councillors. Harder to stage than now, where everything is sorted behind closed doors, then quickly rubber-stamped at the Mayor and cabinet meeting. A long agenda there can be waved through in 30 min. No sign...

Re: OLSPN

Well, that is a bit dishonest, Growsydenham. You have presented that as the complete answer, which I have pasted below for comparison. A supplementary question brought stronger comments from the Mayor, but for some reason, Lewisham Council doesn't minute supplementaries. PUBLIC QUESTION NO 54. Prior...

Re: Forest Hill Pools

The problem seems to be that if the contract is cancelled, the council doesn't have the capacity to take the sports centre management in house, and can't find another company to contract at the same price. Whatever they decide on is going to be expensive, so as usual, Lewisham Council is dithering. ...

Re: Forest Hill Pools

Lewisham locked us into a 15 year contract in 2011 with Fusion. They are a charity, and woefully miscalculated their bid, so are operating at a loss on this contract. Lewisham keep fining Fusion for being rubbish, which puts them in an even worse position. Meanwhile, councillors tetch loudly, but do...
