More fun for Fairlawn Park.........

More fun for Fairlawn…… The construction phase of the new Winchfield Road social housing is going to be difficult for Fairlawn Park residents. The entire site traffic, in both directions, is to be routed through FP. It’s good that their route avoids increased traffic around Haseltine School, but the...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

We finally have a date for the planning inquiry into the OLSPN redevelopment, the 9th and 10th February 2021. Due to COVID-19, it will be a virtual meeting; if you wish, you can follow proceedings live on MS Teams. This is quite straightforward, and many council meetings are being done online now, s...

Re: History of Home Park

Hi,
I believe that there was a Park keepers House on that plot. I'd love to see a photo if anyone has one; it was gone by 1990, when i moved to Sydenham.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

The quotes are from the Archdiocese's statement of case. They haven't yet agreed with Lewisham on a statement of common ground; the PI told me I wouldn't get to see their drafts in the meanwhile (also not quite the procedure in the guide, but I assume it's a covid concession.) So, we all wait with b...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Latest news from the Planning Inspectorate: "the LPA are not required to publish statements but they must be available to view should someone wish to see them." So, anyone who is interested in reading the statements of case from the Archdiocese and from Lewisham Council, just ask planning@lewisham.g...

Re: 254 new homes for Lower Sydenham decision no 6

MOL status doesn't require public access. It is is a way of keeping green space for environmental reasons, and prevent overdevelopment. It is granted when a plot has been undeveloped for a long time - pre 1945 at least, I think, but this land has, I believe, been open since it was farmland.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Hi JGD, the revised timetable was for submission of Statements of Case by the applicant, Lewisham Council, and for me as a rule 6 participant. The last chance for public comments was 1 September.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

I really can't speak for the Sydenham Society on this, and have no idea what their thinking is, so perhaps you could ask them...? I was told by a committee member that I had offended them by posting a comment on a local forum. I expressed dissappointment about the lack of a public statement on the B...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

That is the opinion expressed in the Archdiocese’s statement. I'm being ultra cautious about quoting, because of previous events. As Lewisham also only got the final version a couple of hours ago, I expect it will be uploaded on the planning database in a few days time. I hope everyone reads them, a...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Well, the Archdiocese's statement of case has just arrived, along with Lewisham's. I will have to check whether I am legally allowed to post any quotes, but apparently they think very little of the school's surroundings, and that it lacks the ingredients for a streetscape worthy of note. That's us t...

Re: Home Park

This came up about the Bellingham Play Park, and apparently the council has removed some swings etc for social distancing. Home Park is Bellingham ward, so you might ask Cllr Alan Hall to check for you. Alanhall4labour@hotmail.com

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

I think you'll find the planning inquiry will rule on the facts. You make strong allegations without actually reading the evidence, and didn't take up my offer to take you through it. I have documentary evidence, so can back up everything I have said. The developers have no evidence to back any of t...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Hi Prince, Thanks so much for your advice; I contacted Planning Aid for London, and they are currently organising legal advice for the case. The Planning Inspectorate has instructed Lewisham to provide me with documents, and I await their response with interest. Legal advice will make a huge differe...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

I couldn't agree with you more, JGD, compromise is vital to producing a swift resolution for everybody's sake. The trouble is the Archdiocese has refused to even discuss having discussions, let alone agree to start them. They haven't been willing to consider anything other than doing exactly as they...
