Re: Licence application for gambling……

Can I suggest that people ask the Sydenham Safer Neighborhood police team to object to the license? The police statement is what really counts in licensing cases. You can them on their contact portal at https://www.met.police.uk/area/your-area/met/lewisham/sydenham/contact-us/top-reported-crimes-in-...

Re: Barratt Homes / gasholders site: make your comments NOW!

Amazing how the choice of words can corrupt the public interest. The Authority changed its rules for parking provision from ONE parking place per residence to "less than one parking place per residence". The intention was quite clear. Developers could develop if they could not quite meet ...

Re: Barratt Homes / gasholders site: make your comments NOW!

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS EXTENDED! It's just been confirmed that the Barratt scheme consultation period has been extended, because of the late delivery of some documents onto the planning database. Closing date is now 9th February. :D Lewisham will also continue to accept comments past the deadline, ri...

Re: Bell Green Cycle Crossing

If you look at the Sustainable Development Select Committee meeting on 9th January, the full Active Travel Plan was presented. The Perry Rise crossing is listed at the construction phase, which suggests it's absolutely definite. The Southend Lane crossing is listed at the feasibility phase, so will ...

Re: Bell Green Cycle Crossing

Hi guys, Can I refer you to the thread 'Bell Green Public Transport improvements'? The Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum's wonderful transport engineer Deone Costley took TfL and Lewisham officers to see these issues. The Waterlink Way to Sydenham Station improvement refers to a new controlled crossing...

Re: Bell Green Public Transport improvements

Happy Christmas to everyone in Bell Green. This is your update on what's been happening in 2023. Gasholders site- Barratt London. Having withdrawn their previous application at the last moment, Barratt submitted their new application weeks ago. It still hasn't been published, which suggests Lewisham...

Bell Green Public Transport improvements

The BGNF has been working throughout 2023 on Public Transport and active travel measures at Bell Green, ahead of the proposed no-car developments on the Gasholders and Livesey sites, by Barratt and Apex. We are fortunate in having a highways engineer working for us pro-bono. Our traffic engineer has...

Re: Bell Green Transport Survey online now.

Of course; @archoptical took these images especially for the cause. He also gave permission for me to crop, which is always painful, as they deserve better.

I'm usually scrupulous about crediting images (as they are on our website), but I draw the line on a questionnaire!

Re: Bell Green Transport Survey online now.

Thanks for your help, both of you. The aerial photo is indeed of the Kangley Bridge Road junction. We are incredibly grateful to have architectural photographer @archoptical as a member of the BGNF, and this is one of his drone images. He was kind enough to also allow us to crop them for editorial p...

Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site

I'm happy to say that Barratts withdrew their application (at the last possible moment) before it would have been rejected. Withdrawing it allowed them to remove all the plans from the database. Of course, the Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum have saved copies of them all anyway. So many complaints, b...

Monopole telecoms mast application at Bell Green

An application is live for a monopole telecoms mast with a clutter of cabinets at the corner of Bell Green and Sydenham Road. It will sit against the wall of the Sydenham Green Health Centre's green space, where pavement width is constricted. If you have time, please can you do a brief objection? I ...

Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site

The Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum has a panel of local architects, civil engineers, a traffic engineer and environmental experts who have studied the plans. We are all keen to see this site redevelop, but think that this application is unsatisfactory. This is their response. Emma Talbot, Director o...
