Re: Lewisham Council - £60m of spending cuts!

Certainly cut back on public libraries. They're not what they used to be; now they're noise-ridden dumps, with iPods squawking and mouthers yapping away at top volume. Not to mention the morons with their feet on tables and chairs while the "librarians" pretend not to notice. A shed with a...

leenewham: Lets tax pedestians, they cross roads and therefore are road users. Rubbish. Pedestrians do not have a right to use the roads. They can only use them when they have to cross them, or when there is no pavement, as in country lanes, etc. Let's face it, if pedestrians started walking down r...

If you want to help towards dealing with potholes and and road maintainence in general, there's one simple, direct thing you can do - make cyclists pay road tax. After all, they use the roads; so instead of incessantly whining about the state of the roads, they can make a positive contribution and h...

As I've said elsewhere, make Lewishgam an entire wifi hotspot.
The information highway, like the transport highway, should be open to all.

The whole place should be turned into one giant cycle path, and pedestrians ordered to KEEP OUT.

Feet on benches where people have to sit is another thing. Do they do that at home?

Public behaviour gets worse and worse.

But never mind, whatever you do, the rest of the dozy public doesn't care. You could cr*p on the grass today and everyone would just gawp at you..

Cyclists being prosecuted? It never seems to happen wherever I am. They break every law with impunity, and seem to view the publlic and police with contempt. As for using the pavements because the roads are dangerous, can someone explain how the geezer who sails around locally with his hands ostenta...

And who precisely is going to enforce this law?
There are no cops around - except in the polticians' imaginations.
That's the trouble today - everyone is busy passing laws, and there's no one to apply the!
It's just a dreamworld farce.

Yes, don't just heave all your old stuff into the dustbin. Whatever is sellable, give it to a charity shop.

Not only will you be helping a good cause, but you'll also be recycling.

There are horses stabled in Fortress Lewisham.
When they go trotting around the place, they leave great piles of horse dung behind. Some residents have, it seems, complained about this. (Pathetic, would you say?)

It's so obviously an "English" play; so why did Shakespeare set it in Athens?
