Re: Sydenham Christmas Tree
Perhaps the Sydenham Society might like to organise an event where local people make decorations and help to decorate the tree.

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
I've been to the Kelsey bar in Beckenham a number of times and thought it was quite good, with a 'trendy' bar vibe. I am more than happy of they are choosing to invest in Sydenham, which to me can only be positive for let's face it the current offer is rather limited. Currently if I am going out I w...

Re: Sydenham Christmas Tree
I think the tree looks lovely. To be honest I am both surprised and grateful that we have a tree and lights when the Council has to deal with serious funding cuts from central government. I do think though that as a condition of selling Christmas trees there the flower stall could donate one.

Re: Mattress Amnesty?
Yes very good Lee! :D However it would be nice if people could take a little more pride in the place they live! I work for a council and fully appreciate the issues that local authorities have in trying to get people to not dump rubbish. However people who should know better are still doing this. We...

Re: Mattress Amnesty?
Exactly my point Parker. Their is no excuse and even households that I would think are well informed and should know better seem content to leave them to rot outside. We all have to share this space so it would be nice if people could take a little more effort to dispose of things appropriately!

Mattress Amnesty?
Can anyone enlighten me as to why so many people seem content in leaving their old mattresses in front gardens and on the street?

Re: New local chef
Do you know about Beer Rebellion bar's "pop-up kitchen" policy? They invite different local chefs/street-food operators to provide the food at the weekend. I don't think they've ever had Portuguese cuisine... Unfortunately Beer rebellion staff said that they are closing the pop up kitchen...

Re: The Greyhound Welcomes.........
I would absolutely love an independent group to set up a gastro pub. Let's hope we get what we want. However at the end of the day we can't influence who Purelake sells or leases the building to. They will look to get maximum value from the building and if big chains are interested they are likely t...

Cllr Best, thank you for your update. The replacement of the Legible London signs are particularly welcome.

I have been looking at Acorn's web site who are the agents. Yesterday the Greyhound was under offer. Today it is "available"! Very disappointing if that is the case!

Re: What Happened to the Funding for Signage in Sydenham?
Cllr Best, Can I request that some of the funding allocated for banners is instead used to replace the broken Legible London sign outside Palace Wines. This issue has been raised by other people in an alternative post. It appears that officers have said there is no highway budget to replace this bro...
Re: Bob Wines
Looks like Bob Wines is almost ready to open! Great contemporary fit out by what promises to be a high quality independent business, just what we need! I saw last night that the shelves are now even being stocked. Would be great if it will be open ready for Easter!
