Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Whoever is clamping the cars in Sydenham seems to be very proactive, I haven’t noticed it anywhere else that I have lived!

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
You could always report the vehicles to the DVLA if they are untaxed and left on the public highway.

Re: Speed bumps on Tannsfeld Road
I think this can only be a net positive. Some double yellow lines at the junction with Girton Road would also improve safety as visibility for traffic emerging from the junction is massively obscured.

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
This is the biggest load of nonsense. The only thing this is going to do is congest the high street even more. The only reason councils are coming up with these idiotic schemes is because there is less traffic so less people burning petrol. Its all about money!!! It will do nothing for the environm...

Re: Consultation on Proposal to Close Silverdale/Bishopsthorpe Road to traffic
Had a walk down Silverdale this evening, both sets of road blocks have already been moved aside by (I assume) disgruntled motorists.

Re: Bowling Green - Mayow Park
There is also a well maintained bowling green at Alexandra Recreation Ground so there’s not exactly a deficit of them in the area!

Re: Poundstretcher in old co-op site
"Dalston High Street – not so dissimilar in demographics, structure, age and transport connections – recently got a Marks & Spencers foodhall" Oh come on, Dalston has been a trendy destination with loads of restaurants, clubs, music venues and art galleries, for over a decade. I don't...

Be careful with the people who work in the tyre shop, they have been verbally abusive to me when complaining to them about work they carried out which made my car fail it’s MOT.

Re: Penge Indians
I had a takeaway from Penge Masala last night and it was pretty good. I didn’t have any of their meat based dishes so can’t vouch for the quality of those but everything I ordered was tasty & not overly spicy.

Initially stating the garage has closed & the site will become 40 flats, then a more recent post stating it will be reopening.

Re: Food and drink venues in Sydenham
The food in Hibagon is excellent, it’s not always busy with people eating in but they seem to do a good takeaway trade as whenever I’ve eaten there, people are always coming in to collect food orders. 161 Kirkdale has a great rotation of different beers & wines, the menu is quite varied and chan...

Re: The South London Club Card
Hi Lee,
I think there are already some shops & restaurants around Sydenham that are part of this scheme.

Or was there something extra in the Ladywell section (I only skimmed over it).

Re: Estate Agent's Boards
Is there any reason why one shouldn't just take them down ? Being careful of course not to damage fences and walls ? We had one on a communal fence and I assure you it was down and sawn into 4 pieces no more than 10 minutes after my first cigarette of the day . I agree they are an eyesore and very ...

Re: Estate Agent's Boards
Robinson Jackson put one up on my fence, they do let a flat in the building but it's a long term let so surely no need for the sign until the lease comes up? It has not been removed even after numerous phone calls...
