Re: STATION APPROACH POSTS

One of the posts is right in the path way if you are heading from the lane directly to the station. When I went to the station this morning I ended up walking straight past them. It was only on my return that I noticed them but that was 10mins after chatting with Lee and Barry. Maybe they were a job...

1940's Rationing

Is there anyone in Sydenham or local area who remembers rationing during the 1940s? Am looking to have a chat, on video, about theses times for a video project. You could have experienced rationing anywhere in the UK but really looking for local people, that's down to travel costs more than anything...

Re: Memories of Rationing

Rationing anywhere but am looking for people who are based in Sydenham or local areas at the moment. This is a personal project so don't want to travel too far. Thanks Tim.

Re: Jill hub / Cherry & Ice

They need to change the colours of the walls. From the opposite pavement and even from their own pavement, when you are walking down the high street it looks so dark inside I can't work out if the shop is open or closed.

Re: Lewisham Hospital Success at Last

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has had his decision to reduce services at a major hospital declared unlawful and quashed by the High Court. Mr Justice Silber ruled Mr Hunt acted outside his powers when he announced casualty and maternity units at Lewisham Hospital would be downgraded. He said the Secr...

Re: Kite flying over Sydenham

I spoke to a man in the park early evening who said it was his. It flew out of his hand yesterday afternoon. He didn't seem concerned at all. To me it looks so high that it could be a danger to helicopters. As black clouds flew across the Sydenhams skyline I could trace it back to where it was caugh...

Re: SEE Sydenham Market - Sunday 28 April - 10am to 4pm

For me, and the people I was with, it was all the more enjoyable because there wasn't any entertainment/music. The space is too small to have musical entertainment. For once it was nice to go and view the stalls and be able to speak to the stall holders and meet new friends rather than having to sho...
