Re: PFC Penge Food Centre Sydenham Road
I know Amazon are getting into fresh food deliveries and own Whole Foods - but can you now actually get deliveries from PFC using Amazon Prime? I didn't know they had a web presence. If they do that would be amazing. I suppose it would be something similar to how Uber Eats or Deliveroo pick up from ...

Re: Property is Theft
Great 'clickbait' title - I thought this would be something from the 1960s rather than the 1660s. A good informative read nevertheless. Thanks.

A valuable reminder that the "ends do not justify the means". Honestly believing in someone's guilt (even if true) doesn't justify the fabrication of evidence.

Re: Loft conversion recommendations
Taylored Lofts have done similar work work for us recently. They are local, a family firm, and specialise in lofts (as the name suggests) but are also general builders (extensions, new builds etc.). They have good links with planning experts to help that part of the journey. They've been doing lofts...

Re: Live Sydenham Train Departures
Not sure whether I'll actually use this but I live between Sydenham and Sydenham Hill stations and often decide on the fly which one to use - this seems a quick way of assessing what's actually going on at the time. And then making a decision as to travel routes.

Re: Burglary - Knighton Park Rd
Please provide any information to the police on this - even if only suspicions. Local police (Safer Neighbourhood Team - SNT) will be interested and follow-up / join it with other intelligence they receive. They will be happy to visit and take information. Sydenham residential burglaries have seen a...

Re: Hillcrest Estate - report published
As I said I can't answer your question but on the recent (pre-decision) tour of the site with councillors and architects the architects were surprised at how steep some of the slopes were and how much water flowed under the site. This seems to confirm as was suggested earlier that the architects, wh...

Re: Hillcrest Estate - report published
Or maybe they used this report as a diversionary excuse for cancellation as it enabled them to walk away from the scheme as it stood without having to acknowledge it was fundamentally flawed. I.e. they could maintain some semblance of dignity. This is pure conjecture on my part; I have no inside kno...

Re: Hillcrest Estate development
@Tredownman - what you say is true and that's why it is important to understand why the scheme has been withdrawn so that Lewisham and Lewisham Homes can learn for the future and not do the same thing again. Obviously there was something not correct - either procedurally or functional. Shame so much...

Re: Hillcrest Estate development
Sounds as though a lot of positives have come from this activity. Great to see how it has helped a number of groups come together and if the Hillcrest community centre gets a new lease of life all the better.
And if it spurs Willow Way to get resolved good.

Re: Hillcrest Estate development
With the pressure to get new homes built as a political and social imperative it must have taken something really significant to cause this withdrawal. It will be interesting to understand the 'inconclusive' ecological findings that triggered the turnaround. My understanding (hearsay) is that the re...

What about some initial advice from a solicitor who could advise on options either against council or the freeholder? It might cost you a little initially but better than acting on hearsay.

Re: St Philip Neri Meeting - Thursday 19 July 7pm
Lets hope that whatever happens with regards to the building being built that the response of the planning department is one that does not encourage others to flout planning regulations. I would hope that sufficient penaltes can be imposed or am I being hopelessly naive. It's fundamentally wrong tha...

Re: St Philip Neri Meeting - Thursday 19 July 7pm
Interesting that new head of planning Viv Evans described his position as interim. That suggests he is on temporary assignment and this is backed up when one looks at his cv and past extensive experience available online (easy search) - I recall he has himself been a CEO of a local authority, not ju...

Dylon works - FT reports L&Q buying bulk for social housing
So Dylon Works development might not now have as many private homes as originally expected if report in today's FT is accurate. Seems developers are not getting the individual private sales they expected at the price they want so bulk buying landlords moving in taking them at a discount to original ...
