Re: Local groups for lively 8 month old

Also it's not free, but I can recommend the baby swim classes at the Bridge. They're about £3.30 a class so it's cheap compared to a lot of activities that you have to pay for, and they're a really fun way to introduce your little one to the water. My little boy loved it when we went :)

Re: Local groups for lively 8 month old

There's also a SureStart centre in Crystal Palace, at the Barnados place just behind the Sainsburys. I'm not sure what groups they run but I know they do several - I used to go to parent & baby yoga there when my litte boy was younger but am now back at work.

Re: Motoring Fatalities in Sydenham

Following on from Bensoby's post.... In Australia we also have extensive use of random breath testing and mobile speed cameras. The result is that Aussie drivers are (mostly) constantly aware that the Police could be lurking around the next corner and you can see the effect it has on speed. We also ...

Re: MOT/servicing recommendations

Just found this thread while looking for somewhere to get my car serviced - has anyone used Dartmouth Road Service Centre recently and if so how were they?

Re: Hotels/guest houses/B and Bs SE26 and beyond

My partner's parents recently stayed at the Goodwood Hotel in Beckenham and said they'd really recommend it.

They've also stayed at the Premier Inn in Croydon, which is okay apparently.

Just a quick note to say that the in-laws ended up staying at the Goodwood Hotel in Beckenham and they really recommend it. Apparently it has been recently refurbished and while their room wasn't large it was very nice, plus they had a good breakfast, friendly management, etc.

Tower Hotel Crystal Palace

Does anyone know what this place is like? We're considering it for the in-laws as it seems to be the only local place that doesn't get bad reviews.. but that could be because there don't seem to be any reviews online at all! We did look at Melrose House but it's full for the required dates unfortuna...

Good luck with your venture shopgirl!

If you want an electrician, we've used Michael Rolle (ph 07821 161715) for a few bits at home. He's really local, ie just down the road, and I found him to charge very reasonable prices and be very helpful.

Nope , nothing on the display screens suggested this was anything other than normal! Which is why I checked Southern's website thinking I'd missed some sort of timetable change. It all seemed a bit odd but I wanted to see if anyone knew what the story is so that I know if I need to leave my house 3 ...

7.40am to London Bridge...

Anyone (Barty?) know why the 7.40am train was seemingly replaced by a 7.37am train this morning? I got to the station and was thoroughly confused, but was relieved to see that the "7.37" was running late so I wasn't going to miss it! I thought maybe I'd missed a timetable change but I just...

Thanks all. I took the 122 in the end and the journey itself was fine... I did have to wait half an hour for the bus to actually show up though! Luckily I am the world's most punctual person and had left myself loads of time!

Bus to Lewisham?

Hi I need to get to Lewisham High Street at about 9am tomorrow and I'm guessing bus is the best way. I live up towards Dartmouth Road - can anyone advise whether I'm best walking down to Newlands Park and getting the 75 or if the 122 is the better bet? I'm struggling with the limited info on the TFL...

Personally I think something that stocks homewares, arts/crafts, gifts, etc would be nice. We have plenty of pound stores in the area but not really anything that sells slightly nicer stuff, particularly anything worthy of giving to someone as a gift... To be honest though, it would be just be so ni...

Just to give my opinion.. I like it, but I think the writing is a bit small. It wouldn't catch my eye like that, I think the writing needs to take up more of the signage space.

Just my 2p's worth :)
