Re: Older Persons’ Freedom Pass, 60+ Oyster photo card before 9:00am

Thank you - I could see the principle of what it was intended to achieve. Coupled with a politically motivated government swipe at the incumbent Mayor's travel policies. It is incontrovertible that it blocks the most needy from using the buses at probably the only time they can or might choose to or...

Older Persons’ Freedom Pass, 60+ Oyster photo card before 9:00am

Passengers using the Older Persons’ Freedom Pass, 60+ Oyster photo card or English National Concessionary Scheme will no longer be able to travel for free before 9am on weekdays. Weekends remain unchanged. This apparently will extend across all modes of transport including our local buses. The restr...

Re: Local public transport and face coverings

Say I'm at Elmers End, and trying to get home. A 194 comes along, but is full. By definition, I have another 20 minutes to wait for the next one, which may also be full. Do I hop on whatever bus is going in the right direction and has space, even if that maybe means changing as soon as at Beckenham...

Re: Local public transport and face coverings

Perhaps it is not necessary to be too proscriptive. On the 356 yesterday it was evident that there were several elderly passengers who boarded before me, none of whom had masks. There may be real questions about how people can be provided with or purchase face masks, particularly if you have no web-...

Re: Local public transport and face coverings

Just completed the return leg.

I was passenger number 9 trying to board the 356 and got a polite and gentle refusal from the driver.

Hey-ho.

Re: Local public transport and face coverings

Interesting blend of outcomes on a trip today.

The 356 is restricted to 8 passengers.

The 185 service appears to have no restrictions, no touch in and front doors still locked out.

Re: Local public transport and face coverings

Unconfirmed reports this morning (Monday) that TfL have introduce measures to limit the numbers of passengers permitted on a bus at one time to improve separation. These propose 10 passengers on a single-decker and 15 on a double-decker. It probably helps - but means you may not be allowed to board ...

Re: Virgin Media internet problems

I know this won't help too much but downdetector.co.uk is reporting a sticky 24 hours for Virgin Media with what seems to be an ongoing baseline of a few hundred problems reported per hour. Problems seemed to peak around 12 midnight to 3:00am with a peak at 2.4k users with problems. https://downdete...

Varyingly I read two or three of them - all online.

Re: Lewisham Council Meetings Webcast

Sorry Tim, these meetings have been publicised in the local press for a little while now. And more recently they have been conducted with members and officers appearing via remote teleconference facilities. They provide a notification when live broadcasts are due and another when the archive work ha...

To the two bare-footed buffoons, who on Friday night/Saturday morning at 4am in Lescombe Road took a gallon of dumped paint (blue) and poured it over a car there, Correction - an early misunderstanding had two perpetrators - it is clear there was only one. A slim dark clothed well covered individua...

Re: CV-19: Woman wrongfully convicted in shambolic case

It would appear that our police services in England and Wales have been put in a position where they have been directed to take action and prosecute people based on the Corona Virus Act where it is not competent in law and thereby not fit for the intended purpose. If I am reading this Indie piece co...

Re: Social distancing on the High Road

In fairness, I think most people try very hard to observe the minimum distance. It is a moving feast though - literally and figuratively. Not everyone can be an instant expert on maintaining the separation either when standing on a bus, a train , in a shop or simply when walking. We all observe one ...

Re: Royal Mail to stop Saturday deliveries

BBC has just broken the news in the last two hours (Friday morning) that Royal Mail boss Rico Back is making a surprise exit from his Chief Executive role. BBC makes no comment on whether he jumped or was pushed. It provides information on him having been put on gardening leave until 15 August, duri...

Re: Activity in old Coop

Noticed the anti-HS2 signs on the canopy at the building frontage. It's not the most politically favoured nor the most popular project in the communities through which it must pass. Here's some food for thought. We are all enjoying blue skies almost free of aircraft and the CO2 pollution that goes w...

Phil

Happy to raise the matter with my neighbour's daughter.

I believe she has completed her online report to the Met Police.

As soon as I have spoken with her - I'll pm you on here.

Been reshuffling the corners of the garden shed and the garage - and there is always ...

Car Vandalism in Lescombe Road

To the two bare-footed buffoons, who on Friday night/Saturday morning at 4am in Lescombe Road took a gallon of dumped paint (blue) and poured it over a car there, I have an announcement to make. You vandalised a car that belongs to our neighbour's daughter. In a collective effort by her family and n...
