Re: Sydenham Society

In the UK, Civic society organisations are deemed to be essential components to the planning system and as such are given recognition by planning authorities in their rather opaque processes. This recognition is not insignificant and any submission by a civic society is often given more weight by pl...

Re: sticky:Mural?

Jon First of all - no apology is necessary on your part. The progress so far is remarkable. I concur with your expressed view that if SydSoc had permissions and funding for the wall opposite the down platform - let that project resume independently of the proposal you have worked up. The large wall ...

And btw how are your Essex friends getting such up-to-date news.

I feel that since the Brexit fiasco the telegraphs have been less than reliable and news seems never to reach us no more.

Fair comment.

And you are absolutely right the atmosphere was warm and friendly.

I would hate to think the post would be viewed as another anti-child and anti-dog rant.

Relevant things that when kept in perspective can be dealt with in a positive manner.

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

Went for beer Sunday lunch. Good selection available. Good size footprint but would guess slightly smaller than The Dolphin. It looked like the conservatory area was being used with drapes around the walls. Good to see it was well attended - no seats available - approx 7 prams and seven dogs complet...

Re: old budgens

My BH has written to the co-op suggesting they resume operations on the site.

She was copied in on correspondence when the matter was transferred to their area guy who deals with Sydenham.

No further response - yet.

Re: New yoga studio?

The members and officers could have elected to grant permission and then clarify the two issues highlighted in their rejection. In another application not 1m miles away on Kirkdale, a Change of Use application, which had no Noise Survey or Impact statement included, was granted, with these condition...

Re: Mural?

Concur wholly with Jon's view.

He has done exceptionally well to secure NR's approval and consent for the sites and in very short order.

I echo his view - why is Chris Best being asked - is her approval a pre-requisite or am I mis-reading the poster's intent ?

Re: 20 mph speed limits

An update posted on se23.life Fairly conclusive evidence that the TMO has been made and debunks "a policeman said" story. ThorNogsonVerified16h ThorNogson and after a quick search, this is the public record showing that the traffic order was duly made and published by Lewisham. Unless anyone can say...

Re: Mural?

Absolutely JMLF. You are to be congratulated on your progress. Maintain the momentum - there is plenty of time to finesse and finalise design. From the Forest Hill debate - it was quickly identified that awaiting better weather to carry out the works was also a key factor in fixing when the work cou...

Re: Mural?

The station wall probably belongs to the infrastructure owner - and that is Network Rail (NR). They have been key in granting consent on other mural projects associated with their walls and bridges and would on this occasion be the first point of contact. NR may consider that as this location is an ...
