Was Whites pet shop on the corner of Girton Road? I remember they used to have a slab of Horse meat on the counter which used to make me gag when i went into the shop with my Nan.

Cheers Ulysses for the post, i used to walk up Berrymans Lane on my way to school at Adamsrill and used to pick up the little silver tins of dye spilt on the road and get my hands all stained from the ones that had split! :>

How many people on here used to live in one of these roads? I used to live at No 4 Elvino Rd and my Nan and Grandad used to live at No 41 Broseley Grove. It's still there budwesier. It's a short cut through that goes between Mayow Road and Sydenham Road. Sort of runs paralell to the Hazel Grove Estate. You may know what was on that road previous? I think both doctors must have been there together in about 1965/66 so i would have been 4 or 5 years old then. I remember going in for the polio vaccination which was put onto a sugar lump but i vomited it up so had to have the injection! :D

I remember that the shoe dept used to have an X-ray machine that you could put your foot in and see through a green light, all the bones in your foot! :D Played on that until a floor walker told me off and that it wasn`t a toy!.

I have been here 59 years. Many changes. Used be be only two cafe's . Cobbs dept had up market tea chop and Criterion Ice Cream Parlour also a coffee shop.
