So far I've only met Nasaroc, Mr Ben, Pat Trembath and Tim Lund campaigning in regards of awareness for the coming regeneration of the High Street. DigitalFX at a bus stop on Westwood hill and Mikecg in the East Dulwich Tavern. I've yet to formally force myself upon the veritable Grindles. Your time...

Live music playing at Fozzy hill library
There's a live band playing at the moment and they're very good. Far more preferable to the kids who shriek up a cacophony of ringtones and allied nonsense.
The 60 year old rapper is a bit embarressing though.

Waving at Steve
Over the last few weeks I keep seeing Steve Grindley out and about in Forest Hill and Sydenham. Naturally there's nothing untoward in this, it's in his business/nature to be plodding about the parish, but the thought occured to me. Does anybody wave at Steve? I've started to pioneer this dying art o...

HA HA!! Very good Pat. good to see that the societies still foster a sense of humour. I promise I be there to show support if you then take the ashes of this friend soon to pass, to the next facedown with Southern. Tell them he died before his time. After many delays of course. Then, lets all go and...

Oh how I miss the Woodhouse of yesteryear, well, yester-decade in any case. During my childhood the Woodhouse was my fathers refuge from three demanding boys. We'd sometimes join him to watch the cricket and would be allowed to run wild in the garden without even the slightest of scowls from other p...

Michael. Please get your facts straight. I left the se23.com forum for the same reason so many others did. It's boring and run by an utter control freak who sent me baffling messages on the morality of mentioning shops by their trading name, even WHSmiths. I've been slung off the EDF until the new y...

Council creative?
Whilst walking around Sydenham and Forest hill as well as other parts of the borough my attention has been drawn to the street signs denoting what the street is called. The reason being is because I've noticed a puzzling anomaly in a handful of the signs text. On some signs (see Jews walk or Chesema...

Ha ha. Sorry for not being able to help you but I've lived in the area all my life and I've always wondered how to pronounce it and have been meaning to post it on the forum or indeed, ask someone. Thanks for beating me to it and I look forward to a genuine reply. Steve Grindley should be along shor...

Attempted armed robbery at Londis
Yesterday afternoon two young offenders attempted to hold up Londis in upper Sydenham. They demanded cash from the till but the cashier couldn't (or wouldn't) open it. He was pistol whipped in the eye. He will recover but the experience will undoubtably stay with him for a while to come. The offende...

Apart from my all to often sneering comments I can't help but heap praise on the Woodman. I was a little hesitant on their re-opening/branding and they had this bizzare policy of not accepting card payments following the re-launch but that is now thankfully a thing of the past. I have enjoyed their ...

Nooks and Crannies
I was on Sydenham Hill yesterday and I was caught short. On seeking an appropriate bush to deposit my ablutions and I stumbled upon something I never knew existed. I discovered a previously unknown short cut. Now I've lived in Forest Hill and Sydenham all my life and consider myself pretty savvy con...
