A brief summary is that out of 17 actionable items, the council states that currently: 2 are act...

I have to say that this story surprises me. I use this shop in Penge East frequently and have always found them to be friendly and responsible shop keepers. I don't know the story and the facts of this situation as I wasn't present but if true it is out of character for them in my experiences.

IMHO, depending on the business he is looking to establish, Sydenham is a better commercial "bet" than Penge. I am currently working on a Sydenham "high street" development initiative with residents, traders, the council and some freeholders. Please feel free to PM and we can tal...

Garden Law

My house is an end of Terrace with the neighbor having the Entrance to their garden. The have just attached lattice-work to my walls for plants to grow up. Additionally, They planted bamboo at the corner of my house in their "pocket Square" 6' x 8' between their kitchen extension and rear ...

I hate it when I don't realise my proton is being pulled... :o

I do believe in the three points for trying to get money from the council though :D

I forgot to add that as a positive of nuclear waste storage we could all turn into a green dragon and become living sydenham symbols...

Unfortunately, I disagree with that idea. The negatives (real for locals and /or perceived by investors and future residents) far outweigh the positive (gov't subsidy). I am all for increased investment and gov't grants/ support for local regeneration. But I vote for trying different approaches rath...

Planning and intervention is EXACTLY what we are attempting. The survey is intended to help pinpoint exactly who or what type of shops to approach. Additionally we are hoping to work with property owners so they can see the benefit of working with us to provide "tenants" that will pay the ...

PP, Suffice it to say, we are on the same page. If half of what we want to accomplish gets done I think Sydenham will be pleased! Syd Soc has some great ideas and Tim Lund is tremendous resource on this project. Also, traders want change and are just a bit stymied. I am very excitied by what is happ...

I agree with your comments about the limited size of cafes, yet the massive size of £ shops etc. Unfortunately, the change of use applications to permit the preparation of food and selling can be a bit tedious to obtain. You generally get objections from residents above and adjacent to the proposed ...

Milkmen of Sydenham?

I would like to engage a milk delivery service and wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction? Recommendations appreciated. Also, I am looking to purchase a nice print of Crystal Palace from the 1866 - 1888 time period. Any recommendations as well will be very appreciated... Regards, Scott
