Re: 1.15 AM: tree felling or "boy" racers?
Could someone tell me what the rest of the joke is, please? By PM if it's too rude to share publicly. I've googled the punchline, but without success.

Re: When did West Hill become Westwood Hill please? I've not been able to find an answer online
According to the index of John Coulter's 'Sydenham and Forest Hill Past' (London, 1999), the names are alternatives. On p102, there is a quote from 1858: ' Above the Jew's Walk the hill is termed West Hill or Westwood-hill...'

Re: The NHS COVID-19 app
I agree. It's difficult to see how a Prime Minister and cabinet of such proved incompetence can survive. The Tory party must do its patriotic duty and boot them out forthwith.

Re: The NHS COVID-19 app
I've now downloaded this myself as a matter of civic responsibility, but with fear and trepidation. Does it make some sort of horrible noise when you've been in contact with someone naughty?

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
As someone who likes to keep up with Sydenham affairs, even when I've got little direct interest, I always look at new posts on this thread. I'm afraid however that I can no longer remember what the real issues are. I wonder whether anyone might have the time and inclination to give us a brief summa...

Re: The NHS COVID-19 app
I'm temperamentally a late adopter. It sounds a bit complicated to me. I gather it includes a 'QR code', a term that always causes my bowels to turn to water. I shall wait a bit and see what others have to say about it.

We (both over 65s) got ours this morning from Wells Park Practice. Invited by text message to walk-in session, dedicated to people the initial letter of whose surname fell into a certain range. Waited for less than 5 minutes.

Re: Concerning Chris Beach
i don't know why Chris and Stuart hate each other so much (apart from the fact that they own rival websites, which ought not really to be a reason) and don't want to. But if they want a scrap, I wish they'd go and have it behind the bike sheds or somewhere. I, and I suspect others, really don't want...
Re: Masks
I was on a bus today, and was surprised to hear that the recorded message told us not to stand, to sit next to the window and to maintain social distancing, but didn't mention wearing masks. It was a 122, by the way. We'd been to Crystal Palace to see 'Tenet'. More or less incomprehensible, even, I ...

All right for the young and well-toned like Stuart, but swimming is the only feasible serious exercise available to us timid and arthritic old people.. So we need the pools open soon please, otherwise we shall all have strokes and heart attacks on the NHS and cost you youngsters big money. I'm sure ...

Not far out, maestro, but I strongly deny having been 'on the sauce' (what a vulgar expression). Just a bit manic. I must remember to take my tablets.
