Re: Primary Schools - opinions please
Up to you but, as two of those schools are faith schools, don't forget to factor this into the equation - for good or bad

Re: Intergenerational injustice
The only reason I am renting is because I grew up in a single-parent home with no support from my father!! oh please! i know that single parents are wholly responsible for all antisocial behaviour, crime, riots, looting, insubordination & downright cheekiness, but the current housing situation?...

Re: A Family Classified section in SF?
i like the idea but where would issues around teenagers/young adults fit in? not sure that they would sit comfortably with the creche/bouncy castle contingent.

Re: Post all the news of the Riots here (To make it easy)
apologies bensonby i did not mean "nothing has happened" - i think this is a v difficult night for most of us - as far as i am aware sydenham seems to have been largely unaffected. seems to me that there is a whole lot of vicarious thrills. twitter world. i'm worried about loss of life in ...

Re: Post all the news of the Riots here (To make it easy)
there are always kids on the streets - don't panic - there may (or may not) have been some low level kid disruption in sydenham but i can assure you all that savacenter is not burning. despite twitter's insistence that it is. it isn't.

Re: Post all the news of the Riots here (To make it easy)
Sainsbury's in Bell Green is officially being looted if it hasn't been fully looted already. I wonder how long it is going to be closed for. I'm pretty sure if sainsbury's has been looted, surely CO-OP will be looted sooner or later. when you say "officially" do you mean that someone said...

Think of the local residents. Close the place down.

Hi I've used the Bridge Leisures Centre for years but a change in working hours means that I can now only get there in the evenings and weekends when it tends to get busy. I used to have the pool pretty much to myself at picking-the-kids-up-from-school-time on a weekday - so maybe became a little sp...

Re: Book Clubs
Fair enough, Hill Dweller.
Maria - just a thought - might be worth avoiding the first Tues in the month to avoid clashing with the Syd Library one in case anyone wants to join both. My sis belong to two book clubs - but then she lives in rural France & there's not a lot else to do.

Hill Dweller, you appear to have a strange fascination with posting frequency - I've noticed you mention it on several different threads - what's that all about?

Re: Book Clubs
OK how about this -
We agree a day/time/place to meet in 3/4 weeks time, publicise widely on here, in the bookshop, down the pub, with the neighbours etc & see who turns up. & take it from there ......
My preference would be a pub, early in the week, 7ish
what do you think?

Re: Upper Norwood Library
It's jointly funded by Croydon & Southwark. Even if it wasn't it seem a little shortsighted making it so difficult to join esp in the current climate when they should (surely?) be encouraging the local community to use it as much as poss. & I had my driving licence AND passport. I'm assuming...

Upper Norwood Library

Neither my Bromley nor my Lewisham Library Card were acceptable and I was unable to join as I did not have two official letters/bills to my current address and dated within the last ...
