I dont think the policy Michael refers to applys in the case of roof extensions. I would guess the Council are saying they they " No choice but to allow it", is because it complies with "Permitted Development" rights. You can read that legisaltion here http://www.legislation.gov....

Re: Miriam Lodge 185 Dartmouth Road
What do the poor policemen do for accomodation now after being chucked out for illegal immigrants then a bail hostel( how low can you go ). They move out of London because they can't afford decent-sized homes locally. And they should be forced to do that to house a Hostel ? I was at school on the S...

Re: Miriam Lodge 185 Dartmouth Road
Yes it is Eagle, I too had a few great pints of Youngs " ordinary " there in its better days, a long time ago. I also think it had a Rugby team that would call on the Police Section house on a Saturday morning for extra players when short of a few. Sad days that have gone. I also recall th...

Tim & Dorian, I'm also afraid to inform you that I have no online evidence to back-up my ascertions on this matter. All I can ask is you is to give me the benefit of doubt, though even I can acknowledge that that's a bit rich coming from me Not disbeleiving you at all BBW, am just genuinely int...

Re: Advice Needed - Trying to Save Old Coach House
I dont see how this application could be granted a consent. I do not however think that the Building will be listed as it has been ruined over the years by the alterations mentioned previously. The application is outline and therefore is only to esablish the principle of development and access. Clea...

JoT,
What are your objections ? Is it the loss of the old building because of its potential heritage value ?

Re: 255-269 Sydenham Road - Planning Application
(unhelpfully the authors of the report don't clearly define their terms), so it's not possible to draw any firm conclusions. Errrr, They do, there Design and access statement clearly states that " this scheme is 100% affordable 76% Social rent and 24% Intermediate. There are No private sale un...

Re: 255-269 Sydenham Road - Planning Application
Applying for planning permission under the pious banner of "social and affordable housing" is often a false veneer. Developers will build these bland housing complex under the quite reasonable assumption that they will fail to attract reliable, lower income tenants, thus giving them an ex...
