Re: Freeview Signal in Lower Sydenham

If it is a strong signal causing the problem try using aerial attenuator which you can get from Maplin for a fiver. I have a Pioneer freeview box which suddenly developed pixelations, image distortions etc only on ITV and Channels 4 and 5. Th problem went away after inserting a attenuator on the aer...

Re: Cheap parking around Lewisham Hospital?

You can park along Lewisham Park on the other side of the main road. I think its 40p an hour using the pay machines. It's free after 7.00 pm and on Sundays.

Re: Urgent - Peugeot Mechanic

I have two French cars and as they are fairly new I use the dealershp garages. As the cars are now out of warranty a friend of mine from Forest Hill recommended me to a garage in Brockley called Rodney Garages, Bovill Road, London SE23 (tel: 020 8699 7677). That friend has been using them for years ...

These days, unless you have a fairly new expensive machine, it's not worth the cost of repairing. Factor in the callout charge, parts and repair cost it is cheaper to get a new machine. Same thing with TVs.

I am with BE Broadband which is part of O2 and is working fine. Apparently, ADSL routers that use broadcom chipsets seem to work better with BE and O2 Broadband.

You may be able to buy a replacement locking nut from eBay at a fraction of the price from your main dealer. I bought an original spare lock for my Renault alloy wheels from ebay at a third of the price that I would get from a Renault dealer.

I think Palace have a good chance of staying up if the administrators keep Neil Warnock and the bulk of the 1st team players until the end of the season. Hopefully, a buyer/investor steps in before the January transfer window closes to avoid fire sale of key players.

Due to works on a burst mains temporary traffic lights have been put in near the start of Sydenham Hill (approx 200 yards from the Astra Hotel). This happened in the middle of last night. If you are going to use Sydenham Hill during peak hours please expect long queues.

The start of Penge High Street is being dug up (just before the Homebase) coming from Crystal Palace Park Road resulting in severe traffic congestion (since yesterday) in the Sydenham Hill, Crystal Palace Parade, Westow Hill going towards Sydenham and, especially, Penge. Try and avoid these areas be...

I agree with Simon that with a good FM aerial FM will sound better than DAB. I listen to DAB only on talk/chat/news. I used to have a PURE DAB/FM music system and I tend to listen to music on FM because of its better sound.

The good news: The works at the stretch I mentioned earlier are almost finished and the temporary lights had been removed.

The bad news: Digging has now started at the Sydenham Hill /Sydenham Rise junction. You will expect queues from Kirkdale, Sydenham Rise and Sydenham Hill at peak hours.

They are digging up a stretch of the road by the Sydenham Hill Woods. This is only temporary and traffic should be back to normal on completion of the works. Int the meantime, with temprary taffic lights in place, you will face queues especially during morning school run hours.

Susie1791,

I am not a plumber. I asked because I know of one who is good at small plumbing and decorating jobs and very reasonable. He doesn't fit bathrooms or does gas/heating jobs. In your case, I don't think he is suitable.

Next time note down the registration number of the culprit's vehicle. If it is a commerical vehicle or the dumped rubbish is commercial waste I believe you can report to the Environment Agency. I have been advised that if the Council refuses to act you could refer the issue to the local council ombu...
