Re: ELL service to Highbury and Islington starts next month

If you can't walk far, apologies as am unaware. When I 'do' Oxford St/Circus I go from FH to Canada Water on the Overground and then the Jubilee to Bond St. Usually takes a total of 26-30 mins. The news about Islington is great, I used to stagger with heavy work bags in the FH crush to London Bridge...

Re: Credit Unions vs. High Street banks vs. Money Shops etc.

Just a quickie. The high interest rates would be more 'forgivable' if the lenders were the ones losing out when their bad risks go belly up and default. I fear that it's more likely that the lenders still make their pile and the defaulters' debts are covered by other lenders that do pay up. I'm not ...

Re: Planning application for Money Shop at 59 Sydenham Road

Thanks for addressing your post TL. I must admit to a peculiarity about it, having (possibly too much) experience of forums and (definitely too much) of ganging up (which I'm sure Chris wasn't doing when quoting me in the third person rather than posting to my post). OMG are three sets of brackets a...

Re: Planning application for Money Shop at 59 Sydenham Road

Bully for you. :? Why not just put your own point across without comparing it to another's? Such an interest rate is offered to people who presumably can't avail themselves of cheaper loans. Whether that be because they are too poor or have default records I don't know but if the former I would imag...

Re: Gutter clearing recommendation

Hi again rhs I couldn't find the window cleaner's card after all but Jimmy's last mobile was 07956 257886, he's very fast and tidy but always mega busy. I googled and some of these results are local : http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=gutter+cleaners+se23&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=or...

Re: The woodman

Very bad news, a downside of property values being on the up. It seems a completely inappropriate plan for the site and wouldn't W&S grab more sellers' custom if they were competitive about fees? I'm sure most properties in this area sell themselves with very little effort needed from estate age...

Re: Gutter clearing recommendation

I'll post the phone number of the firm whose man 'does' our road rsh. He's got all the kit as the houses are 3 storey, they've been regular here for years so it's a solid firm. Whether they can do your shimmying (or whether Jimmy the actual roofer can) I don't know, I'll just pass their numbers on w...

Re: Some minor observations

I managed to fall foul of quite a few there actually and immediately ... ho hum. Having read around first, as one does rather than just bursting in and going 'HI, LOOK AT ME look at me la la lahhhh' I posted honestly on a thread where I just happened to disagree with the majority on it and felt the ...

Re: Gutter clearing recommendation

The window cleaner does them along here but naturally charges extra. Think that works out cheaper than having two firms involved.

Re: Some minor observations

Yes, V & BBW, I should have made it clearer that in using the word 'accused' I did understand that the 'accusation' wasn't actually one that offended me. It was obviously at / against BBW (who was in fact the one being accused of posing as me/HD, presumably to get round a ban ..... ). I pointed ...

Re: Tree chopped down corner of Knighton Park Rf

Are you angry that the tree has been chopped down in the first place OPer or angry that having been killed it's not been cleared away?

If the former, does the council woman understand that to be your point .... if it is?

Re: Planning application for Money Shop at 59 Sydenham Road

I probably shouldn't be commenting as I don't know the ins and outs but I have the feeling that the Lewisham Credit Union, while charging very very high interest, only lends for very short periods. Holes like Bright Home do the opposite, pushing the 'advantage' of the long terms for repayment, cajol...

Re: Tree chopped down corner of Knighton Park Rf

Bizarre! I wonder if someone chopped it down as it was blocking their light? I used to have a tree canopy blocking my upper floors' windows but I loved the dappled light it created. Another neighbour didn't like the leaf drop clogging the gutters of their SHED fgs. So now it's gone

Ooooh Hilda as an ID! I can't think what made me choose HD ... unless I was just resisting using Cave Dweller while looking around my long-overdue shell of a home :? How right you are Duke!

I recently had a burning cross waved at me in an.other forum  while being accused of being 'wolf'. IF the misled finger pointers meant the 'wolf' here I think she  has a much better SoH than I have (although I was 'accused' of having the same 'tone').

Re: Some minor observations

Quite so, they do indeed. I must have made my point a foggy one, I was meaning 'A forum' as in this very one (having read the OP/thread about removed posts)! As to whether removed posts are now just described (as opposed to shown) I think he (?) does so and in doing so he owns what he's done (as opp...
