I agree with castiron73 and i'd like to add that as soon as they remove bus stops, schools and shops from residential areas the better too !!

Any dog can be dangerous if it's in the wrong hands. I'd like to see Dog Licences returned and owners having to attend dog behaviour courses, but that's never likely to happen. Some people take dog ownership far too likely. Owning a dog is a huge responsibility and if owners are not prepared to drai...

I'm selling my car in a couple of months and I'm not going to replace it.
I might sign up, in case I'm ever in need of a car.

How very sad. I hope we all take note that we should never try to cross a road anywhere when there are heavy vehicles present. They don't have the same kind of vision as car drivers and aren't always able to see pedestrians close to thier vehicles. I always cross Sydenham Road at that spot, and I'm ...

I wasn't punishing the poor at all. I was just pointing out that although the aspect of the free cycle is a good one, there are some people who abuse the system and spoil it for others. I wanted my sofas to go to someone who was genuinely in need of them, they were in excellent condition, but in my ...

I tried to contact Emmaus, but they didn't respond to my e-mail. So I went down the route of Lewisham Free Recycle via Yahoo. I had quite a bit of interest, but I'd never use it again. Had a couple of pikies come and collect who obviously intended on selling the sofas. They turned up in their vovlo ...

I've just been to Lewisham Hospital as my father was taken in this morning by ambulance. I spoke to one of the nurses and she confirmed the closure of the A&E, she reckoned it will close in about 4 or 5 years. I asked where my father would be taken instead, as it is inevitable he will be taken i...

This is very concerning. Lewisham A&E is vital to Sydenham residence.

My Father lives in Upper Sydenham too, but the two occassions he's been rushed into hospital by ambulance, he was taken to Lewisham and was treated immediately.

I hate to think what will happen if Lewisham A&E close.

I remember when this happened it was a Saturday afternoon, just like any other. I saw a large number of men/boys none in football atire walking along Venner Road towards Sydenham. Even though i was in the comfort of my home, i felt very uncomfortable. Later my husband saw a crowd of men being guarde...

To say it's not possible to provide gates on the up platform is rubbish. The only reason they are not putting them there is the money it would cost. I know someone, probably the Sydenham Society campaigned for a long time, to get the access gate open for the up platform and this is just another blow...

That's excellent news. The shop front has been badly in need of a facelift for ages.
I used to work in there back in to 80's, it's hardly changed since then. I shall look forward to seeing a new Boots.

Hi Angela, I'm curious to know how you decided on your distribution list. It seems odd that the streets on one side of the high ie, Girton Road, Tansfield, Newland Park Road, Homecroft and Venner Road are not on your list and yet all the street on the other side, Silverdale and the Thorpes are. I wo...

Secondhand Furniture

Does anyone know of any second hand furniture places that can collect big items, such as sofas I have 2 I need to get rid of. I don't want to dump them, as they are in fairly good condition.
