'Sydenhamite' is what sprang to my mind when I read the title of your post (before having read the content).

Re: Wellbeing health shop ...

Yes, you have been a little bit thick not noticing it before!

Well Being is a great shop, although to be honest as an existing customer I don't really notice what the outside looks like any more. Try the chickpea samosas - they're fab!

Re: Battery recycling bin in Kirkdale

Apparently all shops that sell batteries are now obliged to accept them back for recycling, so that's why so many shops now have a collection bin. Maybe Tesco's now have a collection bin inside the store. There should also be one in Forest Hill Library. As for Tetrapak recycling, I heard a while ago...

Continuing the threadnap on buying art supplies: now the ELL is open, a trip to Shoreditch High Street will take you to Atlantis, which claims to be the UK's largest art and craft materials store. It's now located in Hanbury Street, off Brick Lane. Back on topic: if the building were to change into ...

There are several places on Sydenham Road where you can renew or top-up Oyster cards. Check the TfL website for an interactive map of Oyster Ticket Stops: http://ticketstoplocator.tfl.gov.uk/LocationLocator/ Edited to add: It would be nice if the (Oyster-less) stations had a poster up listing the ne...

Lee: following your points: 1. There is already a decorative element on there. Acknowledged 2. Nothing has been said about doing the building up first. I think the building needs repainting etc regardless of whether a mosaic is installed, and agree that that should take priority. 3. Having worked on...

Radio repair

Does anyone know of a local firm that can repair radios? My (not-inexpensive) clock-radio is on the blink and sending it to the manufacturer's in-house repair service would cost at least £30, before parts. Thought I'd see if there's a cheaper alternative. Thanks!

Be aware that this might be more serious than conning you out of a few pounds for a non-existent charity event.
