I can see the argument from both sides, but also, if this gate were to shut, what if some incident took place on platform 1, are we all to run and fall up the stairs over to the other platform or along the tracks, rather than to the nearest (safest) exit point? ...and I would have also thought by now that other traffic calming measures could be implemented rather than by just laying down speed humps - I hate the things and they are certainly no good whatsoever for the emergency services...

I have one of these speed humps right outside my flat - and I can tell you that when a lorry/truck etc hits one of these it is flaming annoying - my flat seems to shudder! Also not to mention the drivers who come flying down from the high street and slam on their breaks 'cos they've only just realis...

Anyone know why they were locked this morning? Did not have time to read the notice as was late and had to run for the train :shock: Thought they were meant to be kept open...just curious

Hi there. I've seen the posters. I had to read it twice but I came to the conclusion that this would affect the East London Line at New Cross Gate. Mind you, my heart did stop when I read it first though!

Just want to add my pennys-worth - I have nothing but praise for the Mayow Road surgery. I highly recommend them. An absolute pleasure to visit.
