Re: Yummy Mummies, Wet Wipes & Archies
Such a divisive topic, and one that will obviously put people on the defensive... but I must say, I have every sympathy with the behaviour you're referring to, Rod. A friend of mine and her husband were recently in an Italian restaurant with their three year old. Towards the end of the meal the litt...

Re: Does #TalkTalk care?
I've been with TalkTalk for six years, always found them great - fantastic speeds, phenomenal value for money. Convinced my parents to go with them, and my Dad (aged 81) also has had only good experiences with them. Every time I've needed to speak to them or have had them ring me, my hackles have go...

To the OP, if you read this - you mentionioned having lost your possessions. Unless this has changed, perhaps you could post here and let the community know if there is anything you need that might be donated? Many friends of mine have been guardians - I can well appreciate the situation must have b...

Handyman handy.co.uk?
Thinking of using these guys - any recommendations? I felt sure I saw a post on here praising them, but can't find it. Would appreciate anyone who can feed back...
Thanks

Re: Thinking of setting up a singing group
I was literally just about to throw a load of sheet music in the recycling - mostly musical theatre stuff. Let me know if you'd like it, or if there is anywhere more positive I could deposit it. It's photocopied pages, some taped together.
Cheers!

I also bought through Mann Countrywide. It was a lengthy purchase - I used their finance broker and their solicitors too, and have nothing but good to say about them. Good luck!

Re: Loft hatch widening - recommendations, please?
Thanks for your response, Mosy. I take your point re structure etc, but at the moment the hatch is so small that there is no possibility of gaining access to the loft, short of forcing Oliver Twist up there at gunpoint. I know it can be widened, as my neighbour's house is the twin of mine and has a ...

Loft hatch widening - recommendations, please?
Morning! I have a ridiculously narrow loft hatch in my house, which needs widening, and ideally an extendable ladder fitting. As ever, I'm on a very low wage/budget, but I can't put this off any longer. If anybody could recommend someone good and reliable, who wouldn't cost the earth, then I would b...

Re: Consultation on proposed changes to rubbish collection
Thanks for posting this. I really don't see any value in putting resources behind food waste collection - other than bones there is nothing of that sort that I put in my bin, everything goes to compost. I appreciate we're all different and not everyone has a garden, but small waste like this is much...
Re: Mopeds
It's been a growing problem for a while and is really unpleasant. A few weeks ago I was walking up Kangley Bridge Rd to Lower Syd station and a large group of guys on mopeds all shot up there riding on the pavement. It was the opposite side to where I was, but there was a young woman walking there a...

Like previous posters, I'm shocked and saddened by what's happened, and hope all responsible can be brought to justice. I've mentioned here before that having been a victim of violent crime in the past, it's always at the forefront of my mind. That being the case I can state unreservedly that I cons...

Fishy Question
Does anyone know of a local chippy where you can buy whitebait? I know there's one in Brockley, but we don't drive a car - just walk everywhere - so that's a bit too far.
Just thought I'd ask as very partial to a bit of whitebait. Answers on a fishfinger, please. Thanks!

I rarely get chance to login and post anything here, but have been meaning to thank you for ages for posting these pics - I first saw them on a grim early morning train ride into town a few weeks ago, and they brightened a dull day nicely!

Re: The nightmare that is Southern Rail....
It really is breathtaking how bad the service is, especially at that time in the morning. I'm with markylon - Penge East is great, or more often, for me, it's Lower Sydenham now; the Charing Cross line there is brilliantly fast and reliable, and not having to change is a huge bonus. In the case of L...
