The Sydenham Society have suggested requiring the any new build should be required to actually incorporate stonework from the frontage of the old buildings e.g. lettering, decorative work, foundation stones. I

it's a load of bullshit this "hear your views"...it's obvious the decision has already been made, and I bet that this seeking of public opinion is some kind of legal box that has to be ticked, but the results of which do not need to be heeded. goodbye lovely old building that's part of you...

nasaroc, instead of all this campaigning for the rebuilding of the crystal palace, why don't we concentrate on a massive mirror up on the hill to reflect the light shed by london down into sydenham. this would not only combat the dark problem, but we might get a grant from the government for the env...

i don't understand what the big deal is with walking down the street with a beer?

it's different if people are causing trouble, or on private property, but 7am on a sunday they are probably coming home from a party. i'm sure everyone's stumbled home in the daylight before.

call the cops and have them removed if it's your property, assuming you've asked them to bugger off and they havn't.

Strange. I walked past there at 8:45 last night and I could only see 3 people in there. What time does it liven up? yeah, everytime i've been past there's been tumbleweeds blowing about in there, but i guess it's because they have re-opened under new owners and the old customers have gone somewhere...

Just thinking aloud.... Why does the HSBC need to turn in to a shop.... It could be turned into an NHS walkin centre which would benifit everybody in the area and cut the need to see a GP if non urgent.
