Do you sell real ale? My other-half won't deign to visit otherwise. If you're going to put on a decent Sunday roast then that'll help too.

I generally agree with ALIB's list. Plus – a pub quiz would be good and might entice a few of my Forest Hill friends.

I'm not saying its an excuse, why would I? But surely it follows that if kids have something (non-criminal) to do they are less likely to be drawn into crime and so perhaps there's less chance they'll go around stabbing people at some stage? What's wrong with saying that? What are you saying bensonb...

Well, in my part of Sydenham the youth club has been closed down due to the lack of £30,000 needed to fix the building they use. If kids have nothing to do they get drawn into crime. It makes me really angry that the council don't prioritise these youth clubs. Never mind £10,000 towards a £50,000 mu...

Parking in Forest Hill is rubbish and I have been ticketed there (unfairly I thought).

Result: I hardly ever shop in Forest Hill.

If you opened a shop that sold gifts/cards/homeware/clothes/bath products along the lines of the shops you find on northcross road in east dulwich then I'd find it very useful.

Having sat so firmly on the fence that I ended up with splinters in my bottom, I eventually saw the light and realised that swimming must be kept in Dartmouth road on the original site. I signed the 'keep swimming in Forest Hill' petition and I completed the survey indicating the same. I disagree wi...

The person/people who did the fab murals on the greyhound hoardings should be put in charge of any potential 'artwork' on the naborhood building.

I also think the building should be painted and generally sorted out as a priority before any mosaic goes up.

I also think they should make sure the mosaic can be easily moved to a new building in future, just in case the naborhood building ever gets demolished to make way for something better!

Let them strike. If they are organised and powerful enough, good for them. I can't believe the whinging over a poxy couple of days inconvenience.

Get a bike if its so important for you to be at work on time.

Hi Kate Good luck for the race. I did the 10k which might be the same route?. But it was at least a couple of years ago and I don't know if the route will be the same. I can't remember it exactly but I know it started in the stadium, then it went round the back of the jubilee stand along the path wi...

Yeah, at the moment all we have in upper syd is the very expensive Sunday roasts at the Woodhouse. Those prices are a bit too upmarket for my liking!

That's good news. I think its important for it to go upmarket – downmarket is already well catered for. The problem with its previous incarnation is that it was neither up or downmarket enough to appeal to anyone. Maybe if it'd had a few events - live bands, quizzes, comedy etc. it might have done a...

I think a gift shop is badly needed. Like tulip1 I find myself having to go to Crystal Palace or East Dulwich if I want to buy a gift for someone, its a right drag. I can't think of one place you could buy a decent gift on the high street, unless you get them a book.

What's sad is that the original shop-front should have been seen as an asset by the owner (as demonstrated by Leewnewham's post of an old Kennedy's store) , not an inconvenience to be got rid of. When people rip out attractive original features they de-value their property - and can de-value their b...

I blame the council for this mess. I wonder what happened to that original stained glass? Do you think it just got chucked? There are loads of cafes in Sydenham, so unless its staying open in the evenings and doing something really special, I don't fancy its chances much. They must be pretty ignoran...
