Actually you are right Ulysses. They have tried separating out the eaters from the drinkers and it doesn't seem to have worked so they should try to integrate it all back into one. It used to be nice to sit in the bit near the windows after a walk round the woods. What i like about eating in pubs is...

I have heard back from Young's Brewery. I had pointed them at the threads about the Woodhouse on here and the regional manager said that he was aware of the them. A new chef will be starting on the 25th of January and they are reviewing the menu. I'll be giving them a go once new chef has settled i...

Sorry to say, i used to respect Labour, but honestly, seeing the damage they have done to this country, i just want them out. Not because i want the tories, but because i think the country needs change. Labour have been in power too long now, like the tories were in 1997. We need some fresh faces, ...

Sorry to drag it away again from local politicians but I think Brown is okay. I don't understand what everyone's problem is with him. He's in a different league from Cameron. Brown is a proper politician, Cameron is a showman (not even a very good one at that).

Personally, I don't see how anyone could vote for Brown. I've tended to vote Labour in the past but the idea of 5 more years of this clown is enough to have me vote for literally anyone else. Well if you vote Labour you aren't just voting for Brown are you. And if you vote anything other than Labou...

Wow, seal salt. Is that something even more posh than sea salt? I must rush get to East Dulwich and get me some!

Oh I see - it's those OTHER middle class people who are ghastly. Especially the ones who've turned up in the neighbourhood recently. But you've just enough salt of the earth to be all right. Well I was talking about the Gourmet Burger place in Greenwich, I never mentioned Sydenham. I'd be qu...

I will pay a little bit more to be in nice surroundings (such as the Dolphin), though obviously there is a limit. I don't think the Dolphin prices are any more expensive than equivalent pubs in other areas. They're obviously not competing for the customer that wants to pay rock bottom prices so I do...

I understand your point Trawlerman. I'm certainly not anti pie 'n' mash as I used to go to the one in Greenwich alot. I just wonder what demand there is for it in todays palate. We've enjoyed a bit of a return to 'authentic' cooking with the resurgence of the type of food in Delia's/Nigella's and e...

Ooh, for a decent chippie in Upper Syd..! Mermaid is a great chippie. Not on a Monday or Tuesday in my opinion - I have often had to throw half my chips away if I go in there on those particular days. I usually stop off at Forest Hill on the way home nowadays if I want to pick up some freshly cooke...

so, fresh vegetables placed on a fresh baked roll with cold cuts and designed exactly as you request is yucky???? I then suggest you try a different selection as you have chosen the sandwich... Wow, the planned facilities sound amazing, its an excellent location for this kind of facility and brilliant news for the Wells Park area. This is by far the best use of any money available as it will steer youth away from crime and get them involved in beneficial activities of all kinds. In the lon...

I have never been in Subway, so I shouldn't really slate it til I've tried it but the food just looks revolting in the pictures - it really doesn't appeal to me at all. I would rather have a kebab any day. I suppose it'll do okay, though I would have thought fast food was pretty much covered by all ...

Well, all I know is that the First Capital Connect trains have been very screwed up for about a month or so now which particularly affects people who go to Farringdon & thereabouts. They say its a shortage of drivers but I really don't know. Lots of the trains are just cancelled with no warning....
