Re: Ignition Brewey needs our help!
What about Bob Wines, Bottle Cave, and Clapton Craft? Has anybody talked to them about stocking Ignition Brewery produce? (that is, if they don't already...) Hello I popped into bob Wines and bottlecave and both are stocking ignition so great news. Not sure if the dolphin and golden lion are. Perha...

Great news The Greyhound will be stocking Ignition’s Pale, IpA and Porter from tomorrow.

Re: Ignition Brewey needs our help!
If you haven’t already it’s a great time to donate to Ignition’s crowdfunding venture this weekend.
A very generous donor has offered to match every £ donated to their crowdfunding this weekend up to £1000!
Many thanks in advance and here’s the link again

Re: Ignition Brewey needs our help!
I've just spoken with Ignition and they weren't aware that current users of the space hadn't been informed. Their plan is outside of taproom opening times to utilise the space for community activities as much as possible so they will be working with the groups involved to see how existing activitie...

Re: sticky:RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
I am thrilled by the prospect of the Cobbs building coming back to life, after decades of decline. I was initially disappointed that the signage stuck with the existing clumpy vertical format, as it would have been nice to have seen the original Edwardian slope format to complete the rebirth. I was...

Re: sticky:RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
Revised shopfront and signage details have been submitted. Some good changes have been made to provide greater detailing that is more in keeping with the original building, however the overall effect i feel now is very underwhelming and lacking any individuality.

Re: The Monstrosity - ie St Philp Neri school building
I am completely with Julia here. At a quick glance you might think the completed building looks the same but the devils in the detail. The roof line of the main block is different making the completed building now seem too bulky. The small brick built part had roof lights and a green roof now there ...

Re: Ignition Brewey needs our help!
I do hope that our new pub, The Greyhound, which has just won a Time Out Local Award put some of their beer on tap. I am sure it will be a seller providing they promote the ethos behind the brewery and the beer. I shall be donating to the crowdfunding project. Hello good idea. I’ve emailed the owne...

Ignition Brewey needs our help!
Ignition Brewery is a not-for-profit community enterprise that brews great beer right here in Sydenham by people with learning disabilities. Their brewery is based at the Sydenham Centre and they want to expand to provide a tap room at the front of the centre which will be a place for the community ...

It appears that the fit out of the premises has started. There were workmen in there on Monday when I went past and health and safety signage has appeared on the hoardings. Can only assume it is KFH.

Re: New yoga studio?
Does that mean More Yoga have decided on a different location? Or are we going to have two  After a bit of research it appears that the applicant is Dragonfly yoga. Therefore there seems to be two different businesses looking to set up a yoga studio on Sydenham Road. Is there that much demand ...

Re: sticky:RUMOURS: CINEMA AND NANDOS COMING TO SYDENHAM
By way of an update. The good news.... many of the pre conditions relating to the planning consent have now been approved by the local planning authority. As you will have noticed Nandos have applied for a premises licence to sell alcohol - I can see no reason why they might not get this. The owner ...

Re: Queensthorpe Road Smart Bench
As I said, I think the advertising / branding is modest by comparison with Tescos and other Sydenham Road shops, so I just tried to submit a supportive comment, but annoyingly, the drop down box where you select what your status is offers only Applicant Complainant Developer I'm a supporter! Tim, e...

Re: Planning - CAB unit change of use to restaurant
Dear Prince, Just because the don't tell you the minutiae, doesn't mean the Syd society isn't doing stuff. We're you at the agm? Hello JRW, Thank you. I am aware that the Sydenham Society does a lot behind the scenes. I was not able to make the Agm meeting. However all I was asking was what they ha...

Re: Planning - CAB unit change of use to restaurant
Brilliant news, and particularly that the developers are co-operation to enable deliveries and services to the CAB conversion. Wouldn't it be wonderful if a similar spirit was encouraged in redeveloping the rest of the block. The entrance slope down to Zanzibar would have made a great place for del...

I’ve written in to support the application. Best of luck to them and I hope they don’t face the same uphill struggle as Nandos did in securing consent

Re: Queensthorpe Road Smart Bench
While I support the principle of a smart bench, the design is rather quite ugly and the advertising on it is obtrusive for a Conservation Area. I also think that it is quite wrong for a Lewisham Council sponsored initiative to put in a retrospective planning application. Surely the Council should be...

Re: Planning - CAB unit change of use to restaurant
It is absolutely fantastic news that Mama Dough wants to set up in sydenham and take up this unit.
For information, the confirmation is in the Service Management Plan, which specifically mentions Nandos and Mama dough.
If you want them to be here, please support the application in writing!
