Re: More Trees for Sydenham High Street - can you help?
I'm not sure it needs £200. Does anyone know if it is true that the plants would be pulled up if "unofficial"?

Re: More Trees for Sydenham High Street - can you help?
I've wondered about "guerilla planting" (is that the right phrase??) the Trewsbury road bed but then someone old me the council would pull it up if planting "unofficial" ...so I didn't bother!

Re: The Monstrosity - ie St Philp Neri school building
I have had no response to my comments to Lewisham planning.
I think improved cladding would actually make the building less imposing. If the cladding toned in more with the surrounding buildings this would help considerably. Will try to attend Sydenham Assembly.

Lee enjoy your new location. You have contributed to Sydenham greatly, even if not as much as you have both wished and offered. Let us know how you get on

Outside the Greyhound at the front ...tables are being well used in the sunshine. Nice to see!
Re: Mopeds
The "sillies" also have a tendency to drive straight at pedestrians crossing the road and laugh when they have to jump/run out of the way, hopefully fast enough to be missed. Happened to me once, seen it once!!

Re: Ignition Brewey needs our help!
I've just spoken with Ignition and they weren't aware that current users of the space hadn't been informed. Their plan is outside of taproom opening times to utilise the space for community activities as much as possible so they will be working with the groups involved to see how existing activitie...

Re: The Monstrosity - ie St Philp Neri school building
If anyone is interested, we could meet up at the building to chat. It is much easier to grasp the situation that way, as much of the issues are of scale, & photos are rubbish for that. I am up for a meeting at 6.30 tomorrow evening, so please come along then. I will see if a councillor is avail...

Re: The Monstrosity - ie St Philp Neri school building
Thanks for pointing out aspects of the detail!
TBH I'm not overall enamoured with even the original drawing ...the design does not either reflect or complement the surrounding buildings ...and the cladding certainly doesn't! I have seen many better new school buildings.

Re: The Monstrosity - ie St Philp Neri school building
Think I am missing something. The top picture is Phase 1 and completed. The bottom picture is Phase 1 and Phase 2. The building to the left in the second (drawing) photo is Phase 2 has not been built yet. What am I missing? Phase 1 does not look much different than the drawing. It looks cheap and n...

Yes after a good deal of chasing they said they would start after Easter ie in April. The agent has also been putting on pressure as the planning permission for the windows was over a year ago. The new unit is a shell so a large chunk of investment to fit out. Good news things are finally on the mo...

I don't see any evidence that objections are always about social/council housing! Nor anything suggestions that the objections in this case are linked to "Nimbyism" !!! I do think there neds to be very careful and measured consideration to ensure balance between providing more housing and ...

I think the smart bench is a good idea, a good useful addition to the High St and the design ....could be a lot worse frankly and not dreadful ....and its a seat to sit on in this hot weather!!
