Re: Man with 2 dogs off lead

If I see him again I was going to take his picture, have a firm word with him, possible follow him to his address and then report him to police / council. Anyone got any suggestions? I can imagine this plan going down like the proverbial shit sandwich. That said, if I was out walking with my 6-year...

Re: New to Sydenham!

Hello Akriti

Welcome to the neighbourhood. What kind of stuff/places do you like do/go to? There're nice parks locally, the Horniman Museum is just up the road, the Bethel Hospital museum isn't far....you can play bowls in Alexandra Rec or play tennis in Mayow Park....loads of cool stuff.

Re: Budgens

Totally. With the combined resources of the Sainsbury's behind the Greyhound, PFC, Fresh & Fruity and Well-Being, I have no reason to leave Sydenham for food shopping. I always found the Co-Op to be overpriced and gruelling and Budgens was just a joke. I do miss the Co-Op for their own brand cle...

We definitely don't get a daily delivery up on Peak Hill Gardens. Tend to get two big batches of post each week. Weird...

Foxes!

Morning all I'm just wondering if any board members are bothered by the - frankly unbelievable - noise of the wild fox orgies that are going on in the back gardens of the houses on Spring Hill and Peak Hill Gardens this past couple of months. Despite the occasional night of no activity serving as bl...

Re: Commuting from Sydenham to London Bridge

Thanks everyone. This has made me feel better about things (despite the Southern situation). I actually work quite close to Bank. I get the tube to Monument and then walk up. I was thinking my best bet would be to get the train to London Bridge and walk but then after reading your comments, I wonde...

Re: Commuting from Sydenham to London Bridge

I get the 8.42 (sometimes the 7.58) from Sydenham to London Bridge. It's rarely delayed longer than a couple of minutes. Takes just under 20 mins. Usually get a seat at those times too. Evenings from London Bridge are less predictable. As mentioned above, the construction work at London Bridge along...

Re: The Greyhound Welcomes.........

No WAY.

Anyone got a link? I will happily get involved in fighting this if anyone knows a way. Nandos are a very unpleasant who source their chicken meat from very unscrupulous sources. Not exactly free-range, by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: Reduction in services from London Bridge

Then it's not alright if you're from Honor Oak....the 7.56 originates at Crystal Palace, and therefore there is bound to be a seat. If you are just talking about Sydenham then I agree it is fine as it stands, but if they cut one or two then it won't. Oh, I agree. If you're trying to get on a train ...

Re: Reduction in services from London Bridge

Dunno man - I think that's alright. I always get a seat on the Southern train to London Bridge at Sydenham in the morning. I tend to get either the 7.56 of the 8.42 depending on what shift I'm on each morning - both pretty empty right at the front of the train. Needless to say, by the time we're at ...

Re: Reduction in services from London Bridge

There are three direct services from London Bridge to Sydenham between 6 and 7 pm. 18.21, 18.36 and 18.53.

This is pretty good, in my opinion - especially considering there are three direct services from London Bridge to Lower Sydenham per hour too.

eggs!

Hello

Does anyone know somewhere in Sydenham, or surrounding areas, where I can buy farm eggs? I'm increasingly reluctant to buy eggs from the supermarkets and was hoping there was a farm shop or similar nearby.

Many thanks!

The sign outside has said that it's available for a few weeks now. I presume the original offer was withdrawn?

Piano lessons in Sydenham

Hi there I offer pop and jazz piano lessons in Sydenham and surrounding areas as well as lessons in songwriting and music production. I'm based on Kent House Road at present and will be moving to Peak Hill Gardens shortly from where I'll be able to offer lessons from home, alternatively I'm very hap...

Well it was difficult to see the bloke as it was dark but I think he was wearing a balaclava or otherwise may have had very dark skin. Bout 6ft and slim.

Thanks for the tip about house markings - I'll have a look.

Be safe, everyone!

Suspected attempted burglary in Lower Sydenham

Afternoon all Just a heads up about a suspected attempted burglary on my house last night. I awoke to find a man on a step-ladder looking in through my bedroom window at about 11.30pm. When I sat up and stared at him, he quickly scarpered and took his ladder with him. This was in the Porthcawe Road ...
