1)From memory I can't think of any photos I've seen of that side of the palace around that time.

2)apart from http://www.itnsource.com which hosts numerous clips from different news sources (although not all are available as a preview yet) don't know any.

Certainly The first photo is up by the higher terrace near the south transept sphynx steps. I believe all the car scrapping was done on the terraces/main palace site. Click on the thumbnial images and you can view a low res news real videoof the car scrapping (where the still in my post is from): ht...

Depends what kind of broken glass, if its just broken wine bottles, honey jars can just slip that into a nearby bottle bank (it all gets broken in those anyway) Other glass like windows would have to package it carefully, mark it up as broken and post it off to some glass recycling centre that accep...

It is because they are being strict to the 100 year rule on sensitive information.

Pavillions Remains?

Found something interesting that I hadn't notice before on a 2002 aerial map of CP park. Maybe it is already known about or maybe its something else entirely but have a look at this: http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/7343/remains.png can see the dried out of grass that appears to be making out two stru...

North Tower Demolition

Interesting one I saw the other day.

Image

What is interesting is that the south Tower was demolished first but quite clearly in this photo it is still standing fully. So this photo was of some early work before they dynamited it.

In the book:

Delamotte's - Crystal Palace by Ian Leith

there is one small photo of the Crystal Palace Lower Level Station from the inside and you can just see the roof of the station and middle platform. Will try scanning it in tomorrow, unless someone is willing to do it for me.

certainly

this is an 1853 map and I have circle the area in red.

But sadly all three engine houses (higher, intermediate and lower) were pulled down around 1969-1970.

the unmarked embankment in the 1860s\70s OS maps possibly shows up in a couple of 1919 and 1938 OS Maps, however they both actually seem to form this rather strange line that loops round in strange shape so it is possibly something else, very strange anyway. 1874 http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/717...
