Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
This is a video of this item being discussed at Cabinet last night. Its nearly 10 minutes long and came at the back end of a four hour session where everybody is very tired hence its not riveting viewing. Nevertheless it is a detailed look at progress to date and keeping the council officers focuss...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
I have so little faith in this ever happening. It's got to be one of the most depressing sequences of events and brings together two parties - one side who are clearly spineless/incompetent versus another who are totally without grace or empathy.

Re: SUNNYDENE BUS STOP
I think not. That bus stop will be a light one - say compared to the one in the centre of Sydenham. Picking up/setting down two or three passengers is going to take a very short time. Unlikely to significantly impact the cars behind as both will probably be held at Bell Green traffic lights. Wherea...

Re: Good old Gurkhas
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, nicely furnished and welcoming staff. The food is great! quite reasonably priced, and really tasty. I did find their soft drinks were a little overpriced, but apart from that, everything was good. I'm considering getting a takeaway from there one evening. ....m...

[quote="goonerchamp"]Kebabish - don't knock it until you've tried it ! Love Kebabish too - it does have a very big branding issue though! The grilled chickens and fresh naan to order are a thing of wonder. I have to say, and even though everyone seems to be already bored of Billings! (a tr...

Re: Building site on Sydenham High Street
You'll see a digger currently working behind the blue hoarding. The site owner has agreed to "tidy up" the site before Christmas - no building work will take place before the application is considered by LBL Planning in January. If the application is passed (and I am confident that it wil...

Re: Building site on Sydenham High Street
Looks like a real bargain for someone if the earlier price quoted for the land is right. One question for anyone that might know the answer - the plans look like there will be a degree of separation between the new build and the existing terrace - I take it that means there will be a 'rat run' eithe...

Re: Building site on Sydenham High Street
I have no real objections to this - not entirely sure on the point of the balconies, and ideally one wouldn't want them to be used to dry clothes for example...amusing - I mean balconies on the fronts....

Re: Rebuild the Greyhound Pub Campaign #rebuildthegreyhound
I won't be tweeting Tracey Sultana because that is her personal Twitter account. I have no problem Tweeting companies and their official representatives, but I'm not comfortable with this. It won't do the campaign any good if it looks like individual Purelake's employees are being 'bullied'. The pe...

Re: Billings: Fresh never frozen?
I disagree - there is no need for any binding agent in burger mince - 100 ground beef is the way. One can add herbs/onions etc, but frankly, if the grill is hot enough prior to the initial scorch, then burgers should be fine, especially if sufficient care is taken during cooking. I accept that chill...
