Re: Sydenham - community activity ?
How odd, when I had a run in with him on here last year he seemed like such a stable and decent bloke. Not at all mad and ranty. I wonder what happened...

Re: Girton Road car park - introduction of parking charges
Excellent news that charges are being introduced. Time for residents and councillors to drop their objections to a CPZ being implemented across the Borough.

Who said anything about racism? I'm just interested in the rationale for including only two of his three nationalities in a critique of his performance at the bank.

Re: Current state of the property market in Sydenham
Brexit is not an issue. Project fear is the problem. The disgraceful misconduct of the political appointee at the Bank of England is a large component of project fear. Note well how his (far more experienced and significantly better qualified) predecessor disagrees with everything this Irish Canadi...

Re: STF Users Meeting - arranged 1pm Sunday (NOT 12 noon)
Great work Dom - All sounds pretty sensible so you can count on my support for any changes along those lines. So, there was 4 of us at the meeting yesterday. It was quite tricky to try and keep things focussed with one of the attendees constantly talking about people who post unpopular opinions etc....

Re: STF Users Meeting - arranged 1pm Sunday (NOT 12 noon)
Was all going well until the punch up - Not really sure how it started but can't really say anymore as it's now the subject of a Police enquiry. Admin should probably lock the thread just incase.

Or, if I mute a poster, will any threads that they launched be hidden?

Re: Should Mayo Road have controlled parking?
I'm sure exemptions could be made for local businesses to either pay for designated parking spaces or permits for customer visits. They would then be free to chose whether to pass that cost onto their clients or not. That would represent a fair fairer way to place the burden of the traffic and assoc...

Re: Mayow road/Sydenham road crossing.
I don't get the logic. A zebra crossing is not time limited. Traffic lights are. If you are disabled and slow then drivers may be seeing a green rather than you.As we know, "Proceed with Caution" exists only in the Highway Code.Plus, if you were right Robin, it was not the only fact given...

Re: Mayow road/Sydenham road crossing.
The Council don't have any intention to tackle the chronic through traffic problem that Sydenham has. That's why the timings at this junction are massively in favour of the motor phases. Unlike lots of other, more progressive areas of London and the UK, pedestrians are second class citizens on Syden...

I agree with stuart and The Clown.
If you are seriously concerned about homelessness and destitution, try to do something that helps. Seeking to vilify these people on the basis of tabloid sensationalism and the poor behaviour of a minority is nothing short of bigotry.

Re: Why high streets die
Surely two issues here: 1 - Was the red route parking bay used legally or illegally? If the latter you deserve to be fined and have nothing to complain about. If the former then submit a challenge and get it overturned. 2 - Is parking enforcement killing the high street? No, of course not. A combina...
