Re: Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum proposals...

So, if anyone would like to have an informal chat with me, or sign up for the Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum, I will be at the front of the Livesey Hall from immediately after the 12pm zoom meeting. From 2pm, there is also a Fun Day in aid of the youth boxing programme, providing kit and training fo...

Re: Family Festival Fundraiser 24th Of July - LIVESEY HALLS

This is such an amazing cause. Tomorrow at 2pm, a fun day at the Livesey Memorial Hall, raising funds for the youth boxing programme run at the Livesey. Give them an opportunity to pursue sport, and stay away from gangs. #antiknifecrime #knifesdownglovesup Stalls /Food-Drink/Live Music/Celebs- Motiv...

Re: Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum proposals...

For Bellingham, read JGD. You claim to speak for Bellingham, but I know a large number of Bell Green area Bellingham residents who see the benefits of a cross-ward Forum.

Re: Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum proposals...

We are proposing to cover the Bell Green corner of the three wards. The exact boundary is to be confirmed by democratic vote, run by Lewisham Council electoral team. If you want to start a rival Bellingham group, then that's fine by us. Of course, as your area is about to be transferred to Perry Gre...

Re: Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum proposals...

Dear John, I am sorry, but the plan for this forum has always been to bring together the people who live the Bell Green area, across all three wards. Sue was absolutely committed to cross-ward cooperation, as her many friends would attest. It is not OK to use her name for your own purposes. You have...

Re: Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum proposals...

An extremely belated invitation to the launch of the Bell Green Neighbourhood forum, covering parts of Bellingham, Perry Vale and Sydenham wards. Given the short notice for this meeting, we will aim to hold the second meeting in about a month's time, and will announce the slot at the beginning of ne...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

...it it is absolutely certain that the decision will have a terrible effect on the families who have trusted their children's education to the Archdiocese. Don't understand this. What will the 'terrible effect' be? Perhaps someone could remind those of us who haven't followed this in detail whethe...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water... the Archdiocese strikes again. They are seeking judicial review of the planning Inspectorate's decision on OLSPN school. Lewisham Council has been served as a second respondent, but the appeal is against PINS, so Lewisham would be grateful...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

OK, well if they have 28 days to lodge an appeal, that window expires on 10 June. There's no way they will announce their position before the very last minute, so we'll just have to grit our teeth and hope they make the right decision.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Oh Lord. The Archdiocese of Southwark is now refusing to accept the Planning Inspector’s ruling, and plan to challenge it. ‘The archdiocese said it would work with the school and independent experts and legal advisors “to consider the appropriate responses including a legal challenge”. It would also...

The gable wall of Property World that faces in the direction of Cobbs Corner had existing and historic large scale painted signage (albeit redundant and tagged) that despite technical access complexities was always the best and most prominent of display locations (to visitors coming into Sydenham f...

Re: Sydenham Mural

There are certainly some great mural opportunities on Sydenham Road. If you look down the hill from outside the PFC, there is a blank wall separating the Post Office from the Sydenham centre. It would be great to see a mural there, to promote the Ignition taproom.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

The Inspector has issued their judgement on costs, and it is available online. The Archdiocese’s application for costs has been refused. The Inspector judged that: 9. I do not find that the Council’s behaviour in refusing the s73 application or in serving the notice was unreasonable. Evidence was pr...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Absolutely hilarious to see that @RC_Southwark have just blocked me on twitter. I’d be grateful if any posts they make about the OLSPN situation could be screenshot (or transcribed), and posted here. Talk about godly behaviour… An unnecessary remark. Um, what is wrong about saying I've been blocked...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Hi gemslow, welcome to the forum. I am sure that Global Thinker simply misspoke, as we all know it is an infant and a junior school that have been brought together onto the one site, with the other sold. Sadly, as the Inspector's report shows, the real source of misinformation has been the Archdioce...

Re: Lidl relocation plans?

I agree, that would make sense, but Bishops are totally entitled to not be pushed out of the way! If they want to sell their space, though, now's the time to do it. I understood that the gym space is a lot larger than the shop ever used, due to the state of the roof. Such a large first floor, though...

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order

Sadly, despite receiving £4m funding from Lewisham, the Archdiocese elected to use an outside building control company provided by the builders, and Lewisham planning and building control were denied access to the site. 'Demolition' is the ultimate sanction, but isn't necessarily literal. The Archdi...
