Re: Road *!@!! works!

Taking my son to school this morning I noticed the pedestrian lights by Home Park are out, now the only safe option to cross the road with children in the lollipop man outside St Phlilp Neri. Between Kent House Road and the ped lights down by Sainsburys, this is the safest and only option, not impre...

Re: Fairlawn Park Stabbing

No there were not many residents and yes my feeling was that Hyde do take the problems with their tenants seriously and share our fustrations, saying that I did say that they should be more proactive and maybe think about changing their procedures so that they are more able to deal with problem tena...

Re: Fairlawn Park Stabbing

I attended the meeting this evening and spoke to two representatives from Hyde and gave them my views of what was and is happening in Fairlawn Park. Briefly this was what we discussed. The standard of living for all residents has deteriorated in the last few years; people do not enjoy coming home to...

Re: Fairlawn Park Stabbing

I also feel that having Hyde Housing Tenants invited as well may muzzle any free thought about Hyde Housings attitude for attendees, At this stage of the game there really isn't much to lose. It can't get any worse than murder. This is not how we are supposed to live. Hyde Housing must have a proce...

Re: Fairlawn Park Stabbing

There really needs to be more opportunities for young people How many more opportunities do they need? Everywhere you turn time and resources are given to "young people" what about the people who get up and go to work everyday and want to come home to a normal street and do normal things ...

Re: What's akin with The Dolphin?

I often check in this forum to see any relevant news about Sydenham and its high street etc. But I must say that it is very irritating when a perfectly reasonable thread is hi-jacked with nonsensical meandering posts. Stick to the bloody subject !!! Aaaarrghh

I think labelling Haseltine Lewishams worst school is a bit harsh. Its a primary school! You may not have wanted your child to go there for personal reasons but spare a thought for the kids who do go there, to be constantly told you are not good enough eventually becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. ...

Just to clarify re mattress collection. Apparently neither the refuse or recycling crews take the mattresses. They are suppose to radio through and book to have the mattress collected. Info given on council website is not very clear and I have emailed them today and told them so. It would make more ...

I noticed that these works apply only to Phase III which is the residential element. Is there any info on the landscaping of the commercial part (Phase II)? Has there been a change to the residential as initially it was to be a mixture of affordable ( ) and social housing. It looks a bit like...

My business partner and I had been putting together a proposal to obtain the Mccray Chemist, restore the brilliant 1920’s facade and create a really excellent bistro. With the way the high street is going, we've decided it's just not worth the risk and have dropped the idea. Coll, you based your de...
