Has the Chinese takeaway next to Namaste changed hands recently? And what was the reason for Nameste closing? I know there was a notice on the door but I didn't get round to reading it.

Aldi is supposed to be opening up at the Sydenham gas holders site after the gasometers are demolished.

The Sydenham Soc news Winter 2016 says the development application has been refused "on the grounds that the Sydenham Rd frontage was too big and bulky and too close to houses in Hillmore Grove to the rear".

Guess they are just late starting the development. It looks like something is happening there now.

It looks like the gas holders are definitely going to be demolished. I went to the exhibition in the Livesey yesterday. And it looks as if all the gas holders around the country will also be disappearing in the next few years.

I'm in Lower Sydenham and live in a block of flats. I've noticed that the postman doesn't go to the flats everyday. I've been waiting at the bus stop outside and have seen postie walk right past the flats - and I can't believe there isn't at least one letter for someone in 20+ flats!
